Chapter 27: Lost In The City

I got out of the gallery and ran as fast as I could. I don’t know where I was going, but I just wanted to be as far away from the gallery as possible. I got tired eventually, and went inside the nearest convenience store I could find and bought some water. I took a seat as I caught my breath. I felt my phone vibrating in my bag. I set it to silent earlier because I didn’t want any distraction while working. Not that there’s anyone who’ll be calling me anyway. I only have three numbers on my contact list. When I checked who’s calling me, I saw that it was Jax. I wonder how he got my number. I waited a few rings and took a deep breath before answering. Luisa: “He-hello?” Jax: “Luisa? Are you okay?” Luisa: “Uhm, yeah. I-I just--” I couldn’t finish my sentence. I didn’t know what to say.
