Chapter 13

Rose's P.o.v

In the morning after our night together, Kari and I check on Sunflower, she woke up and asked for water and food. We of course provided it, as the doctor said she couldn’t get enough of water and only asked for more, I left Kari with her to bring my family together to discuss what Kari had told me, “first things first, good morning everyone, especially to you Kai. It’s a miracle that Sunflower could heal you, we’re all grateful to her and her deceased mother for learning healing magic,” I started off with and smile at the scene played out in front of me, mom pulled Kai to her in a ‘wolf’ hug, and refused to let go of him. “But the real reason we’re gathered is to talk about what had happened with the intruder on our land. It is related to the Vampire king Saint Lucien, he has decided that an execution he himself didn’t rule needs to be resolved and dealt with in a proper manner. Meaning he needs to come here and rule his judgement… Mom, dad, Kai and Belli. We’re all involved including Kari, he will speak to each of us here, since mom and dad are current Alpha and Luna of this pack he will speak to the leaders first then go from there. It’s important that this meeting is held on our land or else we could be massacred if it takes place in the vampire kingdom, does anyone have any questions?” I asked and looked at each person for questions and reactions to the news, dad looks serious and ready to defend his land, people, mate and children. Mother’s face matched dad’s and she held Kai tighter, Kai looked somber and I couldn’t tell what he was thinking and Belli had that impassive look she always had with her arms wrapped around her stomach, she may have the sweetest personality and is childish but she is also very unpredictable and strong. If she wasn’t pregnant and had a wolf mate to worry about she could have beaten the intruder, she’s a lot better then others give her credit for. “My father is… ruthless, Kari is right to be concerned about all of us. If we were in his kingdom he would probably kill us all. Me and my brother having wolf mates not to mention me being pregnant, if it's possible we should keep it under wraps," before she could go on I interjected "but Belli, the two of us and out mates have our mating mark, he will notice and ask about it if he doesn't already know what it is or what it means." She paused and thought for a second then smiled shyly and rubber her stomach, "then… let's keep my pregnancy under wraps till he's used to the idea of my mate being a wolf and not some strong vampire, he'll think Kai is weak and cannot protect me properly because he's a wolf." Kai pulled away from mother and pulled his mate into a hug, he glanced at me and I could tell what he was thinking, his blood boiled with anger at the thought of his mate with someone else and the fact they had to face a threat with the king of vampires. "I will protect my pack till my last breath, I will protect my family. Belli, you and your brother are part of our family now and with you being pregnant everyone will protect you dearly." My father said with an intense look that made his words clear and meaningful, it would forever change this pack for the rest of its existence, the strongest alpha accepted vampires into the pack as family. Belli shivered and held onto Kai tighter, hell his look even made me shiver, he was never more serious about another thing in my whole life. I stepped forward and took Belli's hand and smiled warmly at her, "welcome sister, we're glad to accept you into this pack as a member. We shall introduce you to the rest of the pack as a new member along with my mate." I said with my eyes sparkling brightly, but all of my hopes came crashing down with a simple sentence. "No Rose, you should go home with Kari and become queen, someone has to be king and queen or else the vampires will move here, and the rest of the pack will resent us." 

Belli's P.o.v

"No Rose, you should go home with Kari and become queen, someone has to be king and queen or else the vampires will move here, and the rest of the pack will resent us." I had said to Rose, hoping she wouldn't take it too hard, "it's just that my brother was first born and unless he is forced to step down or dies…he will be made king after father dies, I'm sorry I wasn't first born…" I look at Rose closely and see the sadness and disappointment but also something else, "Rose…are you okay?" I asked hoping she'd tell me what that look was about, but she only nodded and walked upstairs, Kai looked at me and I could tell he was concerned but he also knew when to leave her alone. "Well… that was a little dramatic on Rose's part, she usually isn't the type to walk off in the middle of a meeting, but she is scared and nervous about leaving us and going home with Kari, especially if she is to be queen." Cahyra said softly, I guess I could say mother-in-law but Cahyra is better to me. "I hope they accept her as queen… father is dying faster than expected and it would be a miracle if he lives past this month, Rose will have to learn to be queen or else she will crumble and be eaten up alive… but I know she can do it, Rose is a lot stronger than others give her credit for. She herself doesn't realize that she has a rock hard core that is unbreakable." I spoke up and put my hands on my hips staring up and the others, being short is usually fine but not if you're trying to be serious, especially when it's these guys… Archard grinned and out his hands on his hips as well, "well as Alpha its expected that she's strong, but as a father I'm glad you know she can adapt and rise to any occasion. Thanks for always having faith in our child, well…our children." He spoke softly in a happy tone, for the first time that I've lived here I feel he meant what he said and was actually happy the princess of Vampires can see her strength. 

Kari's P.o.v 

I felt her sadness worry and hurt from downstairs, I opened the door only to have her jump into my arms and hug me tightly, I could feel her sadness winning her emotional battle as I felt her tears falling on my shoulder. "Kari…oh Kari! They're gonna make me Belli a member of the pack but we have to leave when your father dies, I'll be queen of vampires but I don't think I can handle it. Will they accept me as queen? They will never accept me as queen, they will eat me alive, I’ll be doomed, how will I get their respect? What about Sunflower? Will she be safe there? Will she have any friends or will she be eaten up?” She asked all at once not giving me a chance to answer all her questions, before she continued on with her questions I put a finger against her lips, “Rose calm down, you need to slow down on your questions, some answers might give you more questions but let me answer all that I caught of your questions,” she looks at me and nods smiling at me, as I pulled my finger away I set her on the bed next to Sunflower, she looked between us and stared at Rose, “mommy Rose… where are we going? And you will be a queen? Am I going to be a princess?” She asked with her eyes sparkling, both Rose and I smiled at her enthusiasm, “well Sunflower we’ll be going to my home, and of course you’ll be a princess and I’ll be king. They will accept you and Rose and neither of you two will be eaten, and I’m sure you’ll make plenty of friends Sunflower. Not just people who barely like you, it'll be a struggle for all of us but as long as we stick together, it'll be fine." I pulled both of them in for a hug and smile brightly, "we will all be fine, I know it my daughter and mate." Without realizing it, our bond made a link between us, a mind link to be exact. 'Whoaaaa is this a miid link?' Sunflower questioned in the link, 'yes it is… well we accept you as our daughter Sunflower, that's an unbreakable bond and this bond lasts forever.' Rose replied, it made sense and she looked more at peace then when she had when she jumped into my arms, thank goodness.

Rose's P.o.v

It has been about two weeks and the day has come, Sunflower holds my hand tighter in reassurance about my nerves, I pick her up and hold her closely. 'Is daddy's daddy coming today? Mommy he's scary isn't he?' Sunflower asks me in our mind link while waiting at the border with our pack warriors and Kari. 'Yes, he is coming today and then when he rules his judgement all will be well till he dies. But I haven't seen him in almost two years, he was a little weak then but only Mood goddess knows how he fairs now.' Kari gives me a questioning look, 'what is a Moon goddess? Is she someone special?' He asked, and me and Sunflower looked at him in shock, I was about to explain when Axius walked through the brush and Sunflower immediately squirmed to get down. I let her down and watch those two interacting put a smile on my face, Axius and Sunflower are surprisingly close, he froze seeing Sunflower running at him and let her tackle him to the ground and they wrestled with each other and Sunflower was the winner. She then puffed out her chest and pouted at him "heyy! You let me win Axius, you weren't giving me a fair chance!" Axius smiled and patted her head softly, "for now of course I let you win, until your a she-wolf warrior I have to go easy on you. Then when you're all grown up and a warrior we'll wrestle for real, I promise!" Her pout melted into a happy smile and she held his hand as they walked back towards the pack, 'Sunflower, tell Axius to take you to our house and play with you there okay?' She smiled and I heard her telling Axius as they walked back, knowing how those two are he'll bend to her will and do what she wants. And he knows he will have a huge problem with me if he isn't good to my daughter, I was jerked back to reality when I saw Lady Kali walking with Saint Lucien. "Mother, father. Rose and I welcome you into her pack borders, as you have realized by now Rose is my mate, and Belli has found her mate as well." Lady Kali squealed and ran over to Kari and pulled him into an embrace, "oh I'm so happy that our two children have mates to look after them, Bell-Bell always said Rose and you we're destined to be together but I'd have never guessed she was right, are you happy Luci???" She said over her shoulder to Saint Lucien, I forget Kali has a bubbly personality exactly like Belli, I look at Lucien and looks at us both and shrugs a bit, "they're mates, I can't come between them. But Kari when you become King your Queen will not be accepted easily by the people,  she will have to prove herself to everyone," He said in warning to us both, "now let us go see the Alpha and Luna and discuss what happened." The pack warriors and Kari walk back with Saint Lucien walk toward the pack, Kali stopped me and looked at me with a warm smile on her face, "listen Rose, don't take Luci too seriously. There may be some people who won't accept you, those will be the ones you'll have to prove yourself to. Others will accept you as queen easily, besides I'll be there to help guide you since your new to the vampire throne, I beg of you to keep Kari safe and support him. Luci seems strong as ever right? Well he really is sick and is going to die soon… Kari will need you after his father dies and when he's crowned as the new king." The troubled expression on her face made me feel bad about all of the struggle everyone will feel when Saint Lucien dies, as we walk to my house I promise to Kali I will be there for no matter what, 'mommy some guys and Daddy just walked in, Axius is holding me and growling at them. Hurry home!' Sunflower said in the link sounding scared and panicked, that was enough to make me shift and run home. Kali was obviously shocked by my shift and kept up with me as I ran the rest of the way home and busted in the house, Kari was standing between his father and Auxius and Sunflower. "Give me that child now Kari, she can heal me and is yummy looking." Saint Lucien said before glancing my way, Axius growl deepened at that and clutched Sunflower tighter against his chest. I growled in turn and the room went silent as they looked at me, I stepped in front of Axius and my daughter and bared my teeth at them. 'Kari, if they so much as looks at my daughter I will kill them!' I snarled in the mind link and he said what I said, he pulled his shirt off and held it out to me, after shifting back I pulled his shirt on and pulled Sunflower out of Axius's arms. Kari pulled the three of us into a hug, "father this is mine and Rose's adopted daughter Sunflower, please don't think of hurting our child. She can't heal your sickness."
