CHAPTER SIX
KYRA
"Your note please". He said again and I turned to look at him, feeling tongue tied.
"Is there anything the problem Logan"? Mr Stone asked and we both turned to meet the stoned glare of Mr Stone.
"I was just asking her to submit her note Sir"! Logan replied, looking uneasy.
"Miss Milson, please submit your note". He said and I gulped.
"Uhmmmm, Sir, I think I can't find my note". I said.
He furrowed his brows as he stared at me.
"You think or you can't find it"? He asked.
"I can't find it"!
"Did you do your homework"? He asked again.
"I did sir"! I replied, looking so worried.
"Then where is it"? He asked and I stared at him, unsure of what to say.
"I'm sorry Miss Milson, you will have to go on detention". He said and my eyes widened in shock.
"No sir! I did my homework and kept it in my bag............" I tried saying but he cut me off.
"Miss Milson, please go straight to the library" . He said, not even looking at me.
I sighed in despair.
I had kept my note in my bag yesterday. I was so sure I did. So who could have taken it?
As I stood up, my gaze ran into Suzanne's and she smirked at me.
Godamn that b***h!!!
She did it!!
Anger surged through me and the urge to tear her apart filled my system but I had to control myself. I can't afford to embarrass myself in front of the class.
Calm down Kyra! Calm down! You have no proof against her yet so calm down!
"Where is your note Hayden"? I heard the teacher asked as I walked out of the class.
It was easy to find the library as it was just two blocks away from my own class.
I walked into the library and found the Librarian just at the entrance of the library.
"Morning Miss"! I muttered as I walked pass her.
"Hey kid! Classes are still on, you are not allowed in the library"! She said and I turned to face her.
"Actually, I'm on detention". I replied.
"Being a rascal in class huh"? She asked and I turned my gaze away from her and walked towards the shelves.
I picked out two books and settled down on a seat and began to read.
Reading has been my hobby for so long. I derive pleasure while reading and this is one of the things that keep my sanity in check.
I was already lost in the book I was reading until I felt someone sitting in front of me.
I turned to look and my eyes dialated in shock.
He sat in front of me, locking gaze with me as he opened his book, still not breaking the eye contact.
I became uneasy. It's so funny that the guy who I had slashed with my pocket knife yesterday would be so brave to sit in front of me, not even looking scared at all.
"Find another seat"! I said and he scoffed.
"I want to sit here". He replied, still looking at me.
His gaze were so intense that I had to turn my eyes somewhere else.
"This is not the only seat in the library. Go sit somewhere else"! I said.
"Exactly, this is not the only seat but it's my choice if I want to sit here". He replied and I rolled my eyes.
"And besides, is this what you are supposed to say? Don't you think you need to apologise for something you've done"? He asked and my gaze went to his bandaged wrist and I began to feel guilty.
"What did I do"? I asked, trying to sound nonchalant like I didn't care.
"Like seriously? Is that what you should say"? He asked.
I looked at him and I felt his serious gaze at me. I gulped and lowered my gaze to the book I was reading.
Okay! I was wrong!
I shouldn't have reacted that way. But it wasn't my fault anyways.
Apologising won't hurt, will it??
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry about that". I said in a low tone, but still loud enough for him to here.
I felt him slip something in front of me and I looked up to see what it was.
Gosh!
It was my mother's necklace.
I gasped in shock as I stared at the white shinning necklace in front of me.
It was in my bag, how did he get it??
As if he read my thoughts, he replied.
"It fell from your bag yesterday when you rushed out of the class. That was what I wanted to give you but this happened". He said, showing me his wrist, making me feel more guilty.
Gosh!! I'm so stupid!!
I picked the necklace from the desk and pushed it inside my pocket.
"I'm really so about that. So sorry"! I said.
"No problem". He replied.
"I'm Hayden"! He said and I looked at him.
"I didn't ask for your name"! I replied and gazed back at my book.
"I know, but I just feel we should get to know each other since we are even now". He said and I growled, getting pissed.
"Can you just keep quiet? We are in the library for goodness sake". I growled and rolled my eyes at him.
"You are so arrogant"! He said but I ignored him and fixed my gaze on the book I was reading.
Few seconds passed and I heard no noise from him. I turned to look at him and he had his eyes on the book in front of him.
I couldn't help but admire how gorgeous he looked.
The perfect sculpted face, the flaming blue eyes, the sharp pointed nose, his plump pink lips and his peach flawless skin.
My gaze moved to his blonde messy hair curled in thick waves. He ran his long slender fingers on his hair as he fixed his eyes on his book and my heart flutter at the action.
My gaze moved down and landed on his soft pink lips.
Oh l bet they must be soft!!
I frowned at the indecent thoughts going through my mind.
What the f**k is wrong with me?
Suddenly, he looked up and his blue orbs met mine and I quickly averted my gaze to the book in front of me.
I felt his gaze bore holes on my skin and I shifted uncomfortably on my seat.
I heard him chuckled and I frowned.
"Jerk"! I muttered inside me as I stood up and walked towards the shelf.
I placed back the books I had taken before and began to search for another book.
My gaze strode up and I found a book on top of the shelf.
'PRINCESS UNVEILED'!!
Sounds interesting.
I stretched my arms and tried to pick of the book but I couldn't.
I even tried jumping, but my hands couldn't reach the book on top of the shelf.
So much for been short!!!
I felt someone behind me and I tensed, reaching for the pocket knife in my trousers.
When the figure got closer, i swiftly moved away and stretch the knife at the figure behind my back, fright visible in my eyes.
"Whoa! Take it easy! What the hell"! Hayden yelled and the book fell on the ground.
"Why were you behind me"? I asked, still stretching the knife towards him.
"I was just trying to help you with the book"! He replied, looking shocked as he stared at me.
"What is the noise all about"? We heard the Librarian half yelled and I quickly tuck the knife back inside my pocket and picked the book on the floor as I went back to sit down.
But this time, I went to sit somewhere else.
I opened the book and began to read, not minding the suspicious stare from Hayden.
HAYDEN
I stared at her as she fixed her gaze on the book in front of her. She almost slashed me, again. Maybe this time, she would have stabbed me if I hadn't moved away quickly.
Why is she scared?
What had happened to her that made her this security conscious?
And the fact that she always had a pocket knife with her baffles me so much.
I stared at her for a while and began to admire her.
Her charming gray eyes were fixed on the book before her.
She had a row of thick, long curly eyelashes that were stretched like a comb as if they were top quality black feathers, fluttering like butterfly wings. They were so alluring. Her soft pinkish lips were so plump and inviting, drawing me like magnet of attraction. I gulped nervously as I stare at her.
Her beautiful brown golden hair covered her face partly but he could still see her face. A smooth jade- like skin, an alluring almond shaped face and red supple cheeks.
I felt my heart fluttered in excitement as I stared at her.
Even though she had covered most of her skin with the baggy hoodie and pants she always wear, she still looked really charming.
What must have really happened to her that made her this way??
