"So you came here for a fresh start?" Eric asked as they munched on their macaroni and cheese.
"Yeah. How about you? Why did you apply for Mystic High?" Nikki asked.
"Umm... It's a bit complicated. You see-"
"AAAAAAAA!!!!!!" Screams were heard from upstairs.
"Oh no..." Eric said worriedly.
"Wait, w-what's going on?" said Nikki, trembling.
"Just stay close." Eric said as he held Nikki by her wrist and ran up the grand staircase. They ran to see a horde of students crowding around the girl's restroom. A short bald man was trying to unlock the locked door with a key.
"Mr Reinhart, what's going on?" Eric asked through the crowd of students.
"We heard a scream coming from inside this very bathroom but I can't seem to open it up. The master key always works but it somehow isn't working now," Mr Reinhart replied still attempting to open the door.
Nikki noticed that there were smashing and the sound of glass breaking coming from inside the bathroom as well followed by screams coming from other girls stuck in there.
Nikki was a statue. She couldn't believe what was happening and didn't want to know what was going on in there.
"Will they get hurt?" Nikki asked Eric shakily.
"Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. They can't even get that door open," Eric replied while running his fingers through his hair.
"Should we get help?" Nikki asked him back.
"No, but follow me," Eric said.
Next thing Nikki knew was that she was being pulled by Eric once again. He pulled her into an empty classroom.
"Why are we here?" Nikki asked.
"They're back..." Eric replied looking at Nikki straight in the eye.
"Wh-who's back?" Nikki asked dumbfounded.
"There's no time to explain- Nikki I want you to trust me. Just stay here and don't. Come. Out," Eric said firmly.
"But why?!" Nikki asked worriedly. But before she knew it, Eric had ran out of the classroom leaving Nikki alone.
"UGGHH!" Nikki said in frustration. She didn't want to just sit here and not do anything. Should she trust Eric, a boy she had just met, and stay in the room or should she go out and do what she can possibly do to help?
"After all, I just met him. Who is he to bark orders at me?" Nikki thought.
She decided that she wasn't going to be the useless one, so she opened the door of the classroom. However, before she could adjust her eyes to her surroundings, something hit her in the head sending a sharp pain through it. Then, everything started to get blurry.
She couldn't make out who or what had hit her. Nikki's legs felt like spaghetti as she walked through the screaming hallways that echoed through her buzzed ears. She had to grip onto anything she could for she felt very dizzy.
Nikki didn't even know why she was walking despite her state. It almost felt like her mind had taken control of her body.
Nikki kept walking- or her mind kept pulling her until she was outside. She couldn't quite make out where she was outside due to her state but she did make out the gazebo behind the hedge maze. However, it wasn't just standing there.
It was glowing.
"Whh-whaaaat?" Nikki managed to slur. "Whaaatttss goiingg o-"
Then, everything went black.
