Chapter 12: Luna Julia

947 Words
Without Edward's introduction, through the blood bond and Cara's appearance, Alpha Gerano could already guess her identity. Edward spoke first, “Alpha, this she-wolf... is your daughter.” Inside the grand hall, the atmosphere suddenly grew heavy. The elders and betas present were surprised, whispering among themselves. Some were skeptical, while others looked at Cara with peculiar expressions. Alpha’s daughter? A weak omega like her? Gerano remained silent for a moment before stepping forward toward Cara. The powerful aura of an Alpha enveloped her, but she felt no oppression, as she was already accustomed to living alongside Grey Wolf, an extremely powerful Alpha. In her own perception, the man before her was nowhere near as imposing as Grey Wolf. The only thing Cara truly felt was the intense bond between them, an invisible thread tightly connecting them, instantly confirming that they were not strangers. Perhaps this was the blood bond Edward had mentioned. “You are Elisa’s child?” Gerano spoke, his voice deep and authoritative. Cara frowned slightly, she didn’t appreciate Alpha Gerano’s tone. Instead of responding, she turned away, refusing to engage with him. Her defiance stirred unpleasant memories of her mother in Gerano’s mind. A fleeting expression crossed his face, anger, perhaps, or regret. He didn’t press the question further. Instead, he simply stated, “From now on, you will stay here.” Cara furrowed her brows in confusion. She hadn’t come here to acknowledge a father. Her only goal was to find Gray Wolf. Edward spoke up, his tone more patient. “Stay for a few days and get familiar with this place. I know you are searching for your mate. Dark Eclipse is vast, you will surely find the one you are looking for somewhere within the pack.” She hesitated, pressing her lips together, before finally nodding. She wasn’t used to pack life, but for Gray Wolf, she was willing to endure anything. Two servants led Cara to a room inside the packhouse. The space was quite large, yet its decoration was so minimalistic that it felt cold and unwelcoming. A large bed, a wardrobe, a vanity table, aside from these, there was nothing but heavy dark curtains blocking out all sunlight. Being in a completely unfamiliar place unsettled Cara to the extreme. To be honest, she wanted to leave immediately. Rather than becoming the Alpha’s daughter and enjoying a life of luxury, she cared far more about her missing mate. Just as Edward had said, the Dark Eclipse pack was vast, perhaps her mate was somewhere within it. As long as she stayed, there was a chance she would find him again. In a luxurious and exquisitely decorated room within the packhouse, Luna Julia leaned against a long velvet-upholstered couch. Her long hair cascaded over her slender shoulders, and a headpiece adorned with fiery red gemstones stood out against her golden locks, accentuating her sharp and beautiful features. Beneath the couch, two servants knelt trembling in fear. At their feet lay a tall, gold-plated goblet, its gleaming surface reflecting the scattered red wine spilled across the floor. “You said Elisa’s daughter has returned?” Julia asked, her beautiful eyes narrowing dangerously. “Yes, Luna. This news was passed on by the servants in the grand hall.” Julia clenched her hand tightly, her gaze turning even colder and more menacing. The name “Elisa” was like a cursed incantation, dredging up memories she had long tried to bury. Elisa, a weak omega wolf, yet the most beautiful one in the Dark Eclipse pack, shone as brilliantly as the moon, the object of desire for many, including Julia’s own mate, Alpha Gerano. But at that time, Gerano had only just become the Alpha of the pack, his position not yet secure enough to choose an omega as his mate. And so, Julia, the daughter of a powerful elder from the council - both beautiful and strong - became the Luna of the Dark Eclipse pack. But that didn’t mean Gerano spared Julia. Once he had gained complete control over the pack, he fabricated a crime to have Julia’s mate hanged. Then, he took that woman for himself, imprisoning her within the cold, unyielding walls of his domain. Julia resented Alpha Gerano, but she hated Elisa even more. If that woman had never existed, her mate would never have betrayed her, never left her with these wounds, both physical and emotional. Her suffering reached its peak when she discovered that the wretched she-wolf was carrying Alpha Gerano’s child. Jealousy consumed her, ravaging both her body and mind until she could bear it no longer. She secretly had the woman released, only to have her hunted down immediately after. But in the end, the woman managed to escape into the depths of the forest. Seventeen years had passed. Julia had thought time would bury those painful memories. Yet today, they all came rushing back, along with that wretched daughter of Elisa. Why hadn’t she died along with her disgraceful mother? Why had she returned? To test Julia’s mercy? Julia curled her lips into a cold smile. She didn’t care why that girl had returned, but now that she had appeared before her, Julia would make sure her life would be anything but peaceful. “Leave,” Julia waved a hand dismissively at the servants, her voice icy. “Yes, Luna.” The two servants quickly bowed and retreated from the room, leaving Luna Julia alone with her own thoughts. *** Author: The Alpha's daughter, such a title may not be a blessing after all. Gray Wolf has yet to appear in this chapter. Is everyone eager to see Gray Wolf again?
