Evelyn left the pack house. Although her clothes and hair were drenched, making her look a bit disheveled, she still carried herself with grace and composure. It was only when the door to her private quarters closed behind her that the anger twisted her face into a dark, bitter expression. After bathing and fixing her hair, she went straight to find her mother, Amanda Dermot. Mrs. Amanda was having afternoon tea by the living room window. When she saw her daughter approaching, she didn’t seem surprised. “You ran into trouble at the pack house, didn’t you?” Her tone was calm, as if everything had played out just as she expected. Evelyn didn’t answer immediately. She paused for a few seconds, collecting her thoughts, then said with unwavering determination, “I want to be Luna.” Amanda
