"Your Highness, Taizel is dead!" Those were the words that greeted me upon waking. I swiftly rose and followed Tristan to the place where my supposed brother had ended his life.
It wasn't supposed to conclude like this. Despite my resentment for everything he had done and his attempts on my life, I still harbored a belief that he deserved a lifetime of remorse. His demise was not the fate I had envisioned.
Did I regret his death? Yes, I did. He was my brother, and I pondered that if only I had listened or been kinder, maybe he could have become a better person, and this tragic end might have been averted.
