I let out a deep sigh as I tenderly covered Cody and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead before stepping out of his room, with Raziel at my side.
After spending a few minutes with the children and tucking them in, our plans for an enjoyable day at the park had been thwarted due to an unexpected attack. Despite the disrupted plans, the fleeting moment we had shared remained etched in my memory, both for me and the children.
