Alexandria POV
It happened suddenly as if an unseen presence had been shadowing us, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. I murmured Raziel's name under my breath as I held Cody tightly against me. Without a word, Raziel helped the children off the ride and guided me and Cody away from the scene.
"No matter what unfolds, I'm here to protect you. Don't worry," Raziel reassured me.
"Daddy, what's going on? And what's that noise?" Cara's voice trembled as she pointed towards the darkness where the ominous sound emanated.
"Cara, stay close to your father and follow his lead. Keep your eyes closed and ears covered," I directed the children firmly, concealing my concerns. "Go and hide behind the dance machine, and don't come out unless you hear me say 'Babies'."
