I settled in the deepest part of the cave, shivering despite every effort to appear unaffected. The stone at my back was mercilessly cold, seeping through the layers of fabric and into my bones. Every few seconds, the storm roared louder, reminding me I had to stay here for a while.
Rome sat a few feet away after I told him not to speak at all.
He really did not.
He simply stared at me.
The intensity of his gaze was almost worse than any words he could have said.
I sighed, not believing my fate.
Out of all the places I could have ended up tonight, I was trapped in a cave with my mate—the mate I had sworn to forget. The mate I had forced myself to survive without.
Why the heck did he still have to look so pitiful yet handsome at the same time?
