Chapter 5 Thomas Thomas sat on the bench against the wall and Elias sat in front of him on a chair. They ordered two beers and remained silent, like they had when Elias chilled him with those few words. Thomas cleared his throat and sat up straight, placing his forearms on the table. “Listen, I’m sorry if I distressed you or scared you. Really, it wasn’t my intention. When you asked me that question, I thought you were joking, and I was a little lost in my thoughts. I would never hurt you.
