I ran over to Xander, letting Kira take over. She ran her tongue over his wounds, making a groan leaving Xander’s lips. The sounds of growls came closer. I quickly stopped and snapped my head, growling viciously back at him. Our eyes remained locked until I heard him whimper and back off, baring his neck. I continued running my tongue over Xander’s wounds. I never knew a wolf could do this, but it seemed Kira knew what she was doing. “You are only allowed with your mate. But Xander wears our mark. I just hope it’s enough,” Kira whimpered. She didn’t want to lose Xander either. Even if he was not our fated mate. With every stronger heartbeat I heard, I was getting weaker, I collapsed and shifted back. I tried to get back up, but it seemed the darkness wouldn’t release its grip on me.
