I let my anger guide me as I walked for miles without slowing down. My only gauge in time was the numbness in my fingertips as the cold began to sink through my clothes. It took conscious effort to stop in place as my vision focused on the strip of woods around me. I knew that I had wandered in the opposite direction of town, deeper into the uninhabited acres of Aurora. Angry or not, I knew that it was unsafe to be out this far, especially without any means of protection. Thoughts of Kathy and Agnus weighed heavily in my mind. This town was dangerous.
