Abraham and his son Isaac, and Isaac's son Jacob, were in the habit of dreaming.
It was through dreams that they connected with their God, whom they believed created the universe.
Of Jacob's twelve sons, Joseph is the only one who inherits the legacy in the same way.
Joseph began experiencing strange dreams at a young age.
Joseph also had a propensity for recalling his dreams and telling them to others.
Joseph's subconscious had begun to respond to and communicate with the soul of nature.
Meanwhile, some of Joseph's dreams stressed out the family members.
Joseph simply described his dream to his brothers.
While reaping the sheaf in the field, Joseph's sheaf stood up, and his brothers' sheaves surrounded him, bowing down...!
Even in a dream, there is so much over pride!
This dream made the brothers envious and dislike Joseph.
Joseph dismissed this dream as unimportant, but his brothers did not.
There's a reason for that.
Joseph was Jacob's most affectionate son.
Everyone is aware that their father, Jacob, fraudulently inherited his starved twin brother Esau's birth rights in exchange for a cup of stew.
Joseph had inherited his father's features.
Joseph's brothers were concerned about his dreams.
Joseph's dream had only sheaves as symbols.
They concluded that Joseph's sheaves represented Joseph, but the brothers' sheaves represented the brothers.
In a nutshell, the brothers are bowing before Joseph in his dream.
It could have been a dream, but his brothers did not accept it.
So there was no delay in the response.
"Should we worship you?"
Will you be our king?
"Will you rule over us?"
They shouted at Joseph.
Joseph's first dream embarrassed and disappointed his brothers.
In that situation, Joseph had another dream.
When his brothers found out about this dream, they became enraged again.
Joseph was reprimanded by both his brothers and his father, Jacob.
Because in the first dream, just the brothers were seen kneeling before Joseph.
However, his new dream is not limited to his brothers.
The dream depicts the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowing before Joseph.
Even at the time, the family recognized that the sun and moon represented the parents, while the eleven stars represented Joseph's eleven siblings.
"What were the dreams you had?”
"That I and your mother and your brothers will come to bow down and worship you?"
Father Jacob rebuked Joseph publicly.
The brothers' hatred for Joseph grew even more intense.
However, it is said that Jacob, the father, remembered and saved this dream in his mind.
Because that parent inherited the secret about the predictability of dreams.
Later, we might perceive Joseph's life as the fulfillment of his dreams.
The brothers were about to kill Joseph because they were angry with him, but they changed their minds and threw him into a desert pit.
At the time, a party of merchants on their way to Egypt came that way.
After devising a profitable strategy, they sold Joseph to these merchants for twenty pieces of silver.
The merchants who journeyed to Egypt sold Joseph to Potiphar, Pharaoh's primary escort.
Joseph was physically fit and handsome.
So, Potiphar hired Joseph as his housekeeper.
Potiphar's wife held a deep affection for Joseph.
But Joseph refused to succumb to her insatiable longing.
She felt annoyed and angry.
She resolved to teach Joseph a lesson after he defied her.
She lied to her husband about Joseph attempting to molest her.
As a result, Joseph was imprisoned.
As we read these passages, we may get the idea that the plot is moving toward reversing Joseph's visions.
However, we shall eventually discover that all of these events in his life contributed to his goal realization.
