When we made it back to the motel, Evans was already there, sitting on Stephen's bed. "How's it going, Evans?" I said stiffly while putting the snacks and beer on the table, "It's been good, Leon." Yeah. I bet. "And yourself?" He asked. "Can't complain." Stephen shifted uneasily beside Evans, feeling the tension in the room. I knew we needed Evans here, but that didn't mean I was going to be happy about it. I tossed a beer to Griff, who was leaning against the bedpost. "Thanks, Alpha!"
