Luke stopped at the stoplight nearest his apartment, glanced around at the empty street around him, and got out his phone. He pressed the "Unknown" contact and held his phone to his ear. As the phone rang, Luke's pulse quickened and electricity rushed through his veins. He'd never called Abel before; he had something he couldn't go another second without telling him, but the impulse made his stomach turn over itself. "Hello?" Abel answered, and his voice on the phone was just as nice and smooth as in person. "Hey, it's me," Luke said, though he realized that Abel probably had his contact name saved. "Hey, Luke, what's up?" Abel asked. "Did you forget something?" Luke looked around nervously, but cars whizzed through the intersection and not a single other person occupied the sidewalk
