Chapter Twelve Am I Done? When I woke, I was stretched out in a narrow bed, tucked in tidily, surrounded by the crisp scent of freshly laundered linen. And there’s an incredible roar in my ears! I had no idea how I’d gotten here—wherever here was. From the pounding in my head, I judged I would probably never remember the events that brought me there. I remembered Taksim, and I thought I remembered most of what Valerie had eventually revealed to me. I wonder what, if anything, I had revealed to her.
