ALLOWED – NOT ALLOWED On the fourth day, we had to go to the station to earn some bread. The station turned out to be quite large, with a restaurant at the terminal and tables on the platform. There was a rather large square behind the train station, filled with cars, carts, and people coming to meet or see off their soldiers. We held our first joint performance on this station square, and were successful. For the first time, people asked me in addition to bend a profile of Lenin, and for Mitka to sing “Katyusha” – and were very happy. They fed us and gathered a whole bundle of food for us.
