I was unsure what had just happened. All I knew for sure was the entire courtyard had stopped and all eyes were now on me. Everything had happened so fast. One minute I was smiling and feeling proud of Blane for giving his blessing to Aiden and Mila, then Alfarin attacked him. Or tried to, because he was now frozen in place, mid leap, an angry expression on his face as he hung in mid-air ready to grab my mate’s throat.
What had I done?
Suddenly, Alfarin fell to the ground, totally bewildered and confused. Conner and Kyle grabbed him by the arms and hauled him up. All three of them looked between Blane and me for some sort of response. Blane mind linked me.
