Chapter 01: Ab Ovo

Atlas

As I moved the cursor up to where the server was, I sat down properly and leaned my back comfortably on my chair before clicking the server and closing my eyes.

"As expected from Gab and Atlas," Suit's voice greeted me as I opened my eyes together to a lush greenery landscape with a touch of warmth sunlight. The lovely sounding birds could be heard in the distance. In the vast expanse, the trees seemed like silhouettes. My bare feet brushed against the marshmallow-soft grass.

The meadow appeared to be a lost heaven's sanctuary. There was an unmistakable sense of inner calm and harmony. The grasses appeared to be having a dance party with the wind, moving to their own beat.

The sky is punctuated by clouds that spread out like a dome. The aroma of caramel filled the air, and the singing of the meadow filled my ears.

"The scenery in Battle Craft never failed to admire me," Pur whispered as she admired the scenery. "This world is definitely far more beautiful than the reality," Ben commented.

" OK, its now time to gather some materials to make tools!" Baste said while stretching his arms.

"Guys, I already found a chest!" Dray shouted from afar. "That was fast!" Ejekiel exclaimed. Dray put down the chest and they started searching for what was inside it. "A wooden axe, lucky!" Soup beamed while pulling out a wooden axe out of the chest.

"Seriously, Soup? There are 10 axes here, you're not lucky. WE are lucky!" Will declared. "Then let's go and chop some wood," I announced while my axe was on my left shoulder.

Then suddenly Purpur raised her right hand. " I will go with Gab and Ben!" Ben chuckled. "Why do you always want to be with me, Pur? Did you have a crush on me?"

"Excuse me! Are you an i***t? I was doing this to make the work faster. Stop assuming nonsense things, Ben!" she said fumingly.

"Seriously? I'm going to hang out with those idiots later?" Gab said with a straight face, while looking at Ben and Pur.

I chuckled. "You have no choice," and I walked away.

"Are you living right now, Atlas?" Baste asked while busy cutting down a tree. "Nah, how about you?" I asked back while walking towards a fallen tree covered in ferns and mosses.

"I'm live, actually I'm live for 3 hours straight now," he answered. "What were you doing earlier before Dray announced that we would be playing Battle Craft?" Suit butted in.

"I was reacting to some videos at that time. Are you living, Suit?"

Suit landed his axe in a tree before he answered, "Yeah."

"Wait, Atlas. How did you already have a wood? You just got here," Baste was now confusingly looking at me. "There's a fallen tree here, you didn't notice that?"

"No, I didn't."

"It's covered in moss and ferns, you can hardly tell that there's a tree in here," I said while seriously doing some crafting on the screen in front of me. After crafting a workbench, some sticks and making a pickaxe, I decided to go and find some stones. "I'm going here, see you later," I bid goodbye to Baste and Suit, who were busy cutting down trees.

"Bye!"

I turned my back to them and I started looking for some stones for mine. After a few minutes of searching, I finally found stones. They were on the edge of a mountain. I mined some of them, I put down my workbench and started crafting some stone pickaxes and a smithy.

Then, after that, I chose to continue mining in the hole I made earlier as I mined some stones.

My eyes widened. "I found iron!" My eyes were glistening while staring at the bunch of irons in front of me. "Where are you, Atlas?" I went back into reality as I heard Dray talking to me in the headphones in my ears. "Ehhh?! Seriously?!" Ben reacted.

"What are your coordinates, Atlas?"

"I was in 667, 70, -252."

"Everyone, to Atlas' coordinates!" Suit shouted.

I just sighed and sat on a rock beside me while waiting for them.

A few minutes had been passed when finally someone showed up. "Finally!" Soup exhaustingly shouted while running in my direction. He was followed by Dray, Suit, Baste, Kiel, and Will, who had just got out of the woods. The ones who were last to show up were Pur, Gab, and Ben.

"You're late, guys!" Kiel greeted them. "We are literally on the other side of the map, for apple's sake, Kiel!" Pur scoffed.

"I have an iron pickaxe! I'll go first to mine some gold," Suit announced while holding up his iron pickaxe. "Go on, Suit. No one's stopping you from doing that!" Will muttered.

"Why are you so cruel to me, Will?" he asked with a cracked voice. "No, I'm not," Will quickly declined the accusation.

Meanwhile, from another angle, I saw Gab seated beside me and start crafting something. "Will is obviously guilty as charged," she whispered, which made me chuckle. She seriously turned her gaze to me as she heard my chuckle, but I quickly turned my sight to Ben and Kiel currently killing each other.

"Stop killing me, Ben!"

"Then stop hitting me with your pickaxe!"

"Ben stop! I'm on a half heart!"

"Stop hitting me, you moron!"

"Dray, Kiel is killing me! Helpppppppp!"

"No! He's the one whose killing me!"

"You're not going to stop them?" Gab asked, making me return my gaze to her. "Am I Dray, Gab?" I sarcastically asked back.

I heard him sigh. "Well, whatever." Then she walked away.

"Guys! Guys! Guys! Stop killing each other! Continue it later, we still have a monster to defeat to beat the game!" Dray mediated between the two of Ben and Kiel.

"Yeah, let's settle it later, Kiel."

"Deal!" Ben and Kiel shake hands with each other as a sign of agreeing on an agreement they made.

"Now, let's go back to collecting needs for the battle." Dray tapped the shoulders of Ben and Kiel before walking away.

"I am only a half heart!" Soup shouted in distress while attacking the monster with only a wooden sword. "Get away from the monster, you i***t!" Baste shouted back as he started shooting the monster with his bow and arrows.

"Everyone back off! Atlas and Baste get ready!" Dray yelled. That's why Pur, Kiel, Ben, Soup, and Will back off immediately.

While me and Baste quickly went behind Dray and formed the formation V.

"Are you ready, guys?" Dray snickered. "Ready is my middle name, Dray," Baste chuckled before he wiped off the blood in his mouth. "Yeah," I smirked as I got ready myself.

The monster, whose only visible feature was its bright red eyes, was slowly walking towards the three of us. "One... two... three, fire!" Dray shouted and I quickly released the smoke bomb and threw it at the monster so we could create a diversion.

I immediately got my sword and we all jumped out of the smoke towards the monster. I sliced the monster's back as soon as I got out of the smoke. While Dray aimed his crossbow at the monster and fired it. Meanwhile, Baste throws out a bunch of explosives and then starts to light them on fire.

"Guys, run!" he shouted, so we all hurriedly ran outside the cave. After a few seconds, a loud explosion filled the whole area, we heard the monster's loud growl, then the ground shook and the smoke started to come out of the cave.

"Did we defeat it?" Pur asked as she aimed down her bow. "No, it's still alive. Guys, get in position and get your bows and arrows ready! It's gonna leave its cave," Dray declared and everyone all lined up at the entrance of the cave, aiming all our bows inside it.

A powerful brush of warm air came inside the cave, followed by the loud growl of the monster. Every step the monster makes, the ground literally shakes.

After it took 5 steps, it's bright red eyes finally showed up. "He's finally here," Gab sneered, then held her bow tightly.

"I count one to three then fire your arrows, okay? One... to three, fire!"

"Wait, what?!" Everyone's reaction after we fired our arrows because of Dray's countdown. "Why are you all looking at me? Start attacking the monster, you morons!" he said and ran towards it and attacked it with a sword.

We all quickly grabbed our swords and headed straight towards the monster. When suddenly it releases, it's the most powerful attack that got me down into two hearts.

"Oh my god! I'm on a half heart!" Pur shouted. "Back off immediately, Pur!" Soup yelled back.

"Guys, switch to bows, and fire it on my signal!" Dray announced. "You better countdown seriously this time, Dray," Suit warned him.

"I will, I will, just aim your f*cking bows at the monster!"

We all aimed our bows at the monster. "In three... two... one, shoot it, guys!" He declared and we all simultaneously released the arrow.

And before the last arrow hit it, it fell on the ground. "Yes!" Baste shouted very loudly.

"Woooooooo!" Will screamed at the top of his lungs. I sat on the stone beside me and exhaustingly smiled while looking at the body of the monster.

"Wohooo! We finally defeated it, we finally defeated it, we finally defeated it~" Ben and Pur sing while jumping. On the other hand, Will, Kiel, Soup, and Suit fell on the floor while still not getting over the fact that we defeated the monster. Then there's Gab, no reaction at all. And Dray, who was smiling from ear-to-ear while staring at the monster's lifeless body.

"Heal yourselves, I have an announcement when we get out of this cave," he announced, which made us snap back.

"Guys, what are your thoughts on having our own world here?" Dray asked while staring at the endless lush greenery landscape in front of him. "Well, it's not that bad. The geography of this world is good if we want to build houses or even an entire nation," Gab said.

"Why did you ask, Dray? Are you planning to build a—"

"Yeah, I'm planning to build a SMP here with you guys."

"OMG! Really?!" Pur giggled. "Wait, lemme craft a map so we can clearly see the geography of this world," Baste volunteered to make a map.

"Are you serious, Bro?" Soup, whose mind was somewhere else asked. "I'm serious. I'm planning to have my own world in this game in which all of the best players on the field can be a part."

"Here! So this world has 4 big continents, a medium-sized island, and 20 small islands," Baste explained while showing the map.

"Woah! This world has a pretty darn good geography, honestly. Do you guys agree to go together with me in creating a whole new world?"

"Why not, right?" Will answered. "We've been teammates for over six years, and we've been through a lot. So even if you ask us or not, we will definitely support you," Suit's long speech.

"Yeah, Suit is right." Pur's stands beside Dray's left, while Suit is on the right. Everyone decided to stand up in their own seats and lined up together with Dray.

We all looked at the sun dipping below the horizon, then an icy breeze nipped at our faces as we stared into a gray, orange and white striped sunset. "This is just the beginning, guys." Dray said.

I yawned as I drew my face away from the screen of my computer. So, I'm back to reality, huh?I removed my headset, got up from my seat and started stretching out my arms.

Then, suddenly, someone knocked at my door, the doorknob moved and the door opened, revealing a girl with straight, dark hair cut into a bob that reached past her chin and bangs. She's wearing a blue-colored, oversized hoodie jacket paired with black sweatpants and semi-rimless glasses. "Atlas, we're going to eat dinner."



"OK!"
