Episode 2: The Journal
Lila couldn’t shake the dream as she moved through her day. The man’s face haunted her thoughts, as if it were etched into her soul. Desperate for distraction, she wandered into the little bookstore on Main Street—a cozy, timeworn place she often visited for inspiration.
“Morning, Lila,” the shopkeeper, Mrs. Greenwood, greeted her warmly. “Looking for something special today?”
“Not sure,” Lila replied, running her fingers over the spines of old, leather-bound books. “Just... browsing.”
Her hand paused on a weathered journal tucked away on a dusty shelf. It wasn’t labeled, but something about it called to her. She pulled it free, the faint scent of aged paper wafting into the air. The cover was embossed with intricate golden swirls, faded yet elegant.
Opening it, she froze. The first page was filled with elegant handwriting, the ink slightly smudged with time. Her eyes scanned the words, and her heart skipped a beat.
“To my beloved, Lila. If you are reading this, it means fate has brought us together again. Please, remember me.”
Her breath hitched as she clutched the journal tightly. Who had written this? And how did it bear her name?
She didn’t know, but she was determined to find out.
