“I am Anubis the god of mummification and the afterlife as well as the patron god of the lost souls and the helpless,” the man with the head of a Jackal replied. “I help souls find peace and rest in the afterlife,” Anubis added. “What does that have to do with me dude?” Scott asked. “I am not dead yet or do you want to kill me?” Scott added as he kept shaking in fear. “I am not here to kill you, Scott,” Anubis replied. “I am here because we need each other,” Anubis added as he stretched his hand to Scott to help him up. “Get your stinky hand away from me,” Scott said as he quickly got up and was about running out of his room but unfortunately for him, Anubis cast his charm on him, making him fall asleep with his body thudding on the floor. At the liquor shop, Mr. Mike was standing speechless as he stares at the body all over the ground in his shop. “Who are you?” Mr. Mike asked the man on a suit but the man reluctantly reached Mr. Mike’s soul and reaped his souls out from his body, “I am Beelzebub,” the man said in relief as he feeds on Mr. Mike’s soul. Meanwhile, in Shane’s room, Shane felt that something was watching him from his closet as he struggles to sleep but he was afraid to check it out. Severally he has attempted to turn on his light but the switch isn’t working anymore. As he lay down on his bed, he covered himself up with his blanket but that wasn’t helping him get over his fear. He summoned the courage to stand to his feet and began making his way to his closet, as he was about opening his closet, his father Dr. Philip from nowhere held Shane’s hand, “Don’t go any closer son,” Dr. Philip said. “What are you talking about dad?” Shane asked. “Whatever you do, stay away from darkness,” Dr. Philip said to his son Shane in a low tone as he quickly flashed his torchlight. “Honey!” Shane’s mom calls out for Dr. Philip. “Where are you, sweetie?” Shane’s mom calls out again. “Son, you have to run,” Dr. Philip whispers to his son Shane. “What for dad?” Shane asked. “Mom is looking for you, dad. You need to return to bed with her,” Shane added. “I don’t think so son,” Dr. Philip replied. “Your mom is not whom you think she is,” Dr. Philip added and was about speaking more when his wife grabbed him from behind and ripped his heart out. “f**k!” Shane exclaimed. “What the hell mom!” Shane yells out. “She’s not your mom anymore,” Dr. Philip replied as he was gasping for air. “My fear has visited us,” Dr. Philip added as he breathed his last. Shane’s mother who has been possessed by one of Beelzebub’s chief demons looked at Shane and said, “Your turn!” “Oh! Hell no!” Shane screamed out loud as he pushed away his mother and was making his way out of the building. Before Shane could reach the exit door, the chief demon that has possessed his mother appeared before him, blocking the exit door. “Where do you think you are going son?” the chief demon asked Shane. “Stay away from me,” Shane said as he ran back. Before Shane could run inside his room and shut the door, the chief demon grabbed his leg and pulled him down. “Your soul is mine,” the chief demon said in a loud voice as he chuckles. As the chief demon lifted his hand up to rip Shane’s soul out, Anubis quickly came to his rescue, hitting out the chief demon out of Shane’s mother and held the demon to the wall. “Where is your master Beelzebub?” Anubis asked the chief demon. “Go to hell!” the chief demon said. “I don’t belong in hell,” Anubis replied. “But I will send you there now,” Anubis added as he immediately consumed the chief demon with fire from his eyes. Seeing the demon that possessed his mother dead, Shane quickly got up and rushed to his mother, with tears he tried waking her up. “She has gone far,” Anubis said to Shane. “Her soul is no longer here!” Anubis added. “Who are you?” Shane asked Anubis?” “You can call me Anubis,” Anubis replied as he quickly vanished before the eyes of Shane, leaving Shane in absolute fear and dismay. Two weeks later, after Shane has finish burying his parents, he assumed his position immediately as the new CEO of Kings Tech as his father Dr. Philip has always wanted. Moreover, Shane has not gotten his eyes off from what he saw two weeks ago, since no one believed him including the police. They all think he was crazy except for Scott who has come across Anubis but after Scott’s encounter with Anubis, he thought he only saw Anubis in his dream. As the normal work of Shane commences, the police have been coming for questioning as the death rate kept increasing in their city. “I don’t know why you keep coming to me, I know no s**t!” Shane said to Detective Brown. “I know you have seen s**t and have smelled s**t,” Detective Brown replied. “You have to help me nail this case,” Detective Brown added. “Why me?” Shane asked the Detective. “Your dad died the same way and you seem to be the only one that has seen something,” Detective Brown narrated as he walks around Shane’s chair. “No one seems to believe my f*****g story,” Shane said. “I believe you now, trust me,” Detective Brown replied. After the meeting with Detective Brown, Shane moved to the new lab he developed in Kings Tech to inspect the new work he was doing there. Scott was also appointed to monitor the project whenever Shane is not around and the work has been going well but Scott has no idea of what Shane was building. Scott on seeing Shane walk into the lab and was able to walk up to him with a question that has been going on in his mind, “Forgive me sir but I don’t understand what exactly you are building here,” Scott said to Shane. “You mind filling me in with the aim of this project?” Scott added. “Take a walk with me,” Shane said to Scott. As they walk down the hallway of the lab, Shane said to Scott, “The death of my parents changed my mindset.” “What do you mean sir?” Scott asked Shane as he pays close attention to Shane.
