They ate in silence the meal that Gideon had cooked. They agreed to talk more after dinner. She set her thoughts aside for a bit and focused on the delicious food he prepared for her. He even said it wasn’t poisoned, so she had nothing to worry about.
She merely glared at the man and then sat down when he pulled the chair out for her. Once they were done eating, Gideon cleaned up and even made her tea.
“Are you going to tell me why you’ve been avoiding me?” His cup of hot tea was still sitting on the coffee table.
“How about you tell me who you’ve been seeing other than me?”
He frowned for a moment. “I meet a lot of different people every day. It’s expected with the kind of job I have.”
