Juliet
I am trying to be a decent personand to keep myself out of trouble because of Zach but whenever he’s around, everything just doesn’t go in place. I know it wasn’t really necessary of methrowing a fit on a public place but I can’t help not to stop. And because ofmy low anger management, we were caught red handed. The higher authority whichis the manager has appeared in front of us as soon as we were running all overthe supermarket. The good thing is, we haven’t broken anything. The bad newswas, we were disturbing those decent people who are in here to shop, because Iand Zach had been running and saying profound words that are very indecent forminors and also because the place that we’re in isn’t something to becomfortable with. And because of our lack of good moral and values, we weresent out of the supermarket and were banned for a week. That is a bit harsh togive as a punishment. The manager should’ve just banned Zach instead since hestarted it.
I’m sitting at the cemented areaof the parking lot near Zach’s car. I’m hungry, mad, depressed and irritated.I’m a little bit bummed out because of the manager, I mean, we didn’t broke orsteal anything. We just act like little kids. Isn’t that something to forgiveabout?
I kept on playing the stonesbeside me with the use of the stick that I saw under the tire of Zach’sexpensive car. I am weak and I can’t stand up or even do anything because I wasashamed of what I did a while ago. I should’ve controlled my anger. I want togo home and mope all day.
“Let’s eat. You’ve been seatingthere for an hour and all I do was wait for you to recover with yourhumiliation that you drag me into.” Zach said. He is seating in front of thedriver’s seat with the door flung open and he didn’t even turned on the engine.
Even if I wanted to beat the crapout of him or even say things that I wanted to say to him, I can’t. It’sbecause, I was too weak to do so. Every time it kept on replaying at the backof my mind, I can’t help but to feel horrible about it. The most irritatingfact also was Zachary, didn’t even remove the password lock on my phone even ifhe saw me in a depressing situation.
“Go. Leave me alone.” I said in alow tone of voice. I sigh and throw the stone away from me. And it didn’t evenhelp me to get the heavy feeling that has been piling up on my chest.
“I know you’re mad at me. And I’msorry.” Once again, the word ‘sorry’ has been out of his mouth. Since the firsttime I saw him and up until now, we only met for days and he have already saidthe word ‘sorry’ for a thousand times and I don’t even know if that was reallytrue.
“Will you just tell me thepassword of my phone?” I asked in the most serious look possible. Even if we’rekicked out or have been humiliated, the display on Zachary’s face didn’tchanged. He still have this cheerful look painted on his face and I don’t evenknow how did he manage to do that. If I was on his place, I’ll be ballistic. Itis because I was chased by a high school student and have been kicked out ofthe supermarket plus banned for a whole week. Being a college student, andhaving that of a trouble is something I want to get out of my system but withthe looks of things, none of it ever bothered him.
“I will if you get your prettyass in my car and eat.” He smiled. I stare at his genuine look and was beingreluctant of getting myself inside of his car. “Why aren’t you mad or upset ofwhat happened? Why are you having that kind of look where in you just gotyourself in trouble?” I queried.
He chuckles for a second and thenanswered my question, “It was because, I had fun.”
Fun? Is that how he define fun?Being in trouble, getting kicked out and banned? That isn’t fun at all. Thatwas upsetting.
“That is how you define fun? Thatisn’t even fun at all.” I answered in a disapproving way.
He walks towards me and stopswhen he was in front of me, “I know that isn’t fun for you but you know, youcan’t always be upset of things just because you did something wrong or evenhumiliated yourself. Just laugh it off and eventually it will get out of yoursystem. If you kept on thinking about it and feel horrible of what you did, itwill just kept on playing at the back of your mind and you won’t even get tomove on. That’s why, get your pretty ass in the car and forget everything thatyou and I have committed in this horrible supermarket.” He laid both of hishands in front of me, asking me to get them to help me get up. I was amazed ofhow good is this guy making a person smile. Maybe he had a lot of girlfriendsand giving them this amazing advice or cheering up and it made them happy andfall for him so much.
“You have a nice way of cheeringup a person. Though, you didn’t really succeed one hundred percent. Just a halfof it.” I took his hand and get up from the cemented area that I have beensitting on for the whole sixty minutes.
“At least it did well and Imanage to get your pretty ass out of that dirty cemented area.” He cockilysaid.
“Can you please stop calling myass pretty because you didn’t even saw my ass and that really sound perverted.”I remarked.
He walks toward his car and saidin the most positive way possible, “Well, I am perverted when it comes to you.”He ended his sentence with a wink. I don’t really get this guy at all. Really,I don’t.

“You sure do have a good tastefor hamburgers.” I compliment. We ate a local fast food restaurant where theyserve a delicious, tasty and huge hamburgers and fries. It was really deliciousthat I feel like I was in heaven. Though, my stomach is very full that I can’thardly move.
“Well, I love eating burgers andfries. They are both my favorite food on the planet.” He replied. He took aleft turn and we are almost near his house. I don’t think I have a lot more todo since I gave the dogs a bath and I also clean his house. Can I just go homenow?
“It isn’t really obvious withthat kind of a body.” To tell you the truth, his body is really attractive thatany girl will fall for it. He must be doing a lot of exercises and going in thegym often. And with that kind of body, you wouldn’t imagine that a guy like himwill get his mouth taste fatty foods.
He coughs for a second beforelooking at me with the use of his rear view mirror, “For your information, Ihave this kind of body because I do a lot of exercise and it doesn’t mean thateven if I have this kind of body, I can’t eat food like that. I’m a human, don’t compare me to jerks who get their stomach starve to death just tomaintain their body weight and figure.”
He does do have a point there.“Okay then.” I replied.
He parks his car in front of hishouse and stops the engine after. I open the door of my side and waited for himto get his keys of the front door of his house.
“Okay, welcome to my house mylady.” He said. His jokes aren’t really funny at all.
I let myself in and didn’t replyto his not so funny joke and I immediately let myself sat down at his blackexpensive looking sofa without even asking for his permission which I don’tthink I need to.
He closes the door behind him,“Feeling comfortable?” He ended his question with a smug.
I lean my head against the sofaand stare at the ceiling above me, “Can you give me the password now?”
I wasn’t able to look at his faceand he still said the words that I don’t want to hear, “No.”
I let out a heavy breathe beforeI finally directed my eyes at him, he was still standing in front of the doorwith his arms folded against his chest. He had this arrogant look glued allover his face. What does he want from me? Why can’t he not give me the passwordof my phone? It’s not like it was his phone.
“And why not?” I said in anoppressive way. “You don’t have the right to meddle other people’s things andtheir privacy.” I added. It was true and he doesn’t have to speak none sensebecause all of what I say is positively true.
“You shouldn’t be talking withthat guy.” He changed his demeanor when I came up with those words that cameout from my mouth. He became serious. Why is he being so bipolar? And is hereferring to Kyle.
“Oh my gosh. Why do you have tomeddle with those things? It’s not like this is your life to control.” I standup from where I was sitting and went to face him.
He smirk in reply and composedhimself before replying in a verbal way, “123456.” Did he just gave thepassword without getting me through horror? Why is he being so bipolar that Idon’t really understand him? Why is he being like this? Why my pervertedobnoxious boss is being like this towards me?
“You can leave early. You havenothing to do anymore. See you.” He half smiled and went upstairs withouthaving this cheerful aura that he normally has.
Am I seeing things or is heacting a lot different lately?

I received a text message fromthe nurse who was in charge of my mother and she said that she was still stableand I’m glad to hear that.
I click on the number of NurseEmma, I wanted to call her, just to make me feel that my mother is really fine.I was hoping to drop by today but I have a lot of things to settle in the housesince it hasn’t been properly cleaned since the day that my mother that has sentto the hospital.
“Hello Juliet?” She answers.
“Oh, hi. I know you sent me amessage about my mother is totally fine and all but I just really wanted tohear it from your voice. I was hoping to drop by today but I have some thingsto do, maybe I’ll be there late in the evening or tomorrow morning? Is shereally okay?” I really care for my mother. If only I have the power to get herout from the bed or even have a time machine, so that the accident will beprevented. But in my disappointment, neither of those two exist.
“She’s fine. She’s stable. I willtake care of her, don’t worry. Its okay if you just visit tomorrow and besides,I know that you’re worked up and pretty much tired, give yourself some rest. You need it honey.”
I smiled on her comforting andcaring words, she sounded like my mother. “Thank you very much. If somethinghappens, just give me a call, okay? Thank you very much Emma. If my mother wokeup and she’s all better, I promise to treat you.”
She laughs on my reply, “Don’tworry, it’s okay. It’s a nurse’s job to take care of the patients. I don’t wantto trouble you or anything but you should start paying for the bills. It wouldreally be a headache if it will not lessen.”
I sigh in the realization that Ihaven’t been paying the hospital bills, the salary is by the end of this weekbut I could really use the money now. “Yeah, I will. Don’t worry about me.Thank you and take care.”
I ended the phone call and placemy phone on my pocket. “Bills. A high school student like me, paying a largeamount of money.” I said to myself.

“Good morning Jl, long time nosee?” Cody welcomes me with a smile on his face. He was on the cash register, getting ready to open.
“Yeah, good morning. I can’t waitto finally work on this place. If only my second job pays as large as what theypay us here, I wouldn’t be taking the second one.” I complained in a nonchalanttone.
“Come here.” He gestures me tocome closer to him, “And why is that?” I ask.
He gestures me to come closer andI did, the counter was the only one that was keeping us a meter apart. Heextended his arms and placed both of his index finger in each end of my lipsand he let my lips form into a smile, “In this café, smiling is one of thethings that you must always wear. Okay?” He cheerfully said.
I snorted, “Are you kidding me?”He removes his fingers away from my face and raises his eyebrows in unison, gesturing a ‘yes’ to my serious question.
I was weirded out with that rule.Is that even serious? I rolled my eyes and started to walk inside the worker’sstation and change my worker’s uniform. I have been accepted in this job lastlast last day but this is the first time that I’m really going to start workinghere. If it weren’t because of that jerk, I could have worked decently.

“A cup of latte on that table Jl.Thank you.” Lois handed me the tray with the latte. I’ve been working on thecafé for five hours now and there is only an hour left before my shift isfinally over. I gave the latte to the customer and head back to the cashregister.
“Are you okay?” Lois asks me. Shewas writing on the receipts while she started a conversation with me.
“Yes. I’m fine. How about you? Thanks for asking by the way.” I ended with a smile.
She leans on the counter andfrowns at me, “Not so good.” She sighs and crosses her arms against her chest.
“Why? Something bothering you?” Iwent to stand beside her. “Well, me and my boyfriend had a fight last night andhe still hasn’t been texting me.” She continue to display a frown on her face.
I pat her back, I was trying tocomfort her. Obviously, I don’t know what to say to her since I haven’t had oreven got into a relationship before but I should at least say something. “It’sokay, don’t feel sad about it. Eventually, everything will be okay. Just givehim some time.” I said in the most comforting way possible.
“Yeah, you’re right. Sorry fortroubling you.” She half smiled. “It’s fine. You could always talk to me.” Evenif I don’t really know what to say.
“Good afternoon, may I order somefrappe please. Thank you very much.” The voice sounded familiar.
I and Lois faced the guy and itwas Zach. I sigh in the thought of him showing up in this early afternoon. I’mnot even ready to see him at this time though. I can’t believe I’ll workinglater at his place.
His eyes landed at me for a quicksecond and eventually looks back at Lois, “Your usual order Sir?” Lois asks.
“The usual.” He handed the billwithout getting the change and sat down at the chair near the window. Why do Ihave to see him everyday? I can’t wait for Saturday, to not work for him.
“Frappe coming up, to the goodlooking guy on the window. Please give him a warm greeting, he is our boss’brother.” Lois handed me the tray with the Frappe that Zach ordered.
I nod in reply and went straightto where Zach is seated. “Good afternoon Sir, enjoy your frappe and have a niceday.” I distinctly replied. If I weren’t because of Lois said, I would havejust gave this frappe without saying anything.
“Thank you very much. By the way, your shift is almost done, right?” He took a sip from his frappe beforealigning his eyes on mine.
I nodded. He stares at his iPhoneand said, “I’ll just wait for you then.”
I swallowed the lump on mythroat, “Wait, did you just came here to give me a ride to get to your house?I’m sorry but I can handle by myself, thank you very much.”
He smirks, “No. I’m not here foryou, I’m here to meet someone and I will just wait for you since I’m alreadyhere.”
I exhaled, “But, you can go aheadafter you met that someone. I can handle by myself.” I said.
“Hi Zachary, nice to finally seeyou again.” A female voice said behind my back. I turn my head to see and shewas definitely beautiful, skinny, feminine, good taste of clothing and what Ithink Zach is very in for a girl. She have a long brown hair and pretty greeneyes. She’s just beautiful.
“I’ll just wait for you.” Zachsaid, “Can you please tell Lois to get me a latte. Thank you.” I can’t believeI’m even taking orders from him on his sister’s café.
I went back to the cash register,“Lois, one latte to the pretty dumb guy on the window please. Thank you.” Isaid in the most annoying tone ever. I look back at Zach who is busy laughingwith the pretty girl a while ago. Are they dating? Well, if they are. That girlis pretty much unlucky.
“He’s not dumb. He’s actuallysmart you know. He’s on med school, you know. And, I don’t know why you’re madat him. He’s a nice guy if you get to know him. When I first saw him, I havethis small crush on him.” She chuckles. Med school? That guy is on med school? She must be bluffing. And yeah, she doesn’t really know what kind of guy hereally is.
I stare at the both of them whocontinues to laugh so hard that Zach almost bursts into tears. They should’vegone on a noisy public place than in here. I despise him so much. Why is hesmiling so much, don’t you dare smile like that. You’re so fuckin’ handsome. No, he’s ugly.
“Latte for Mr. Winters.”
Are they really dating? Is thatthe kind of girl that Zach wants? Is he really into girls like that? Well thatgirl isn’t suitable for him though. That guy is perverted, obnoxious, ridiculous, annoying, bipolar, knows how to make people smile, thoughtful, goodkisser. Wait, did I just said that? No, he’s not a good kisser.
“One Latte please? Jl??”
He’s not a good kisser. He definitelyis not. He is one obnoxious college brat.
“Hey Juliet! The Latte???” Iflinch as soon as I heard Lois voice shouting at my ear.
“Sorry, sorry.” I took the trayaway from Lois hands and went straight to their table. “One latte to the prettylady. Thank you very much.” I turn my back to walk away from them but before Ieven took a step, I felt a hand grab my wrist.
“Hey Ally, I want you to meetJuliet.” Zach started to introduce me with Ally who I don’t really know if whatis her label to Zach’s life.
I smile weakly, “Hi, I’m Juliet.Nice to meet you.” I stutter.
“Hi Juliet, I’m Ally. I’m Zach’scousin. Nice to meet you. Tomorrow’s my birthday, I would like you to join us,since you’re a special friend of Zachary.” She said cheekily.
“Thank you for the invitation butI don’t think I could make it. Since, I have work to do tomorrow.” I honestlysaid. And what does she mean by special friend of Zachary?
He smiled at me, “Is that so. Toobad though.” Ally frowns.
I hate it when people tends tofrown in front of me, it’s my weakness. I don’t want to see people frowning oreven crying in front of me.
“She’ll be there. Don’t worry.”Zach reassures.
I glance at Zach and he wasn’tlooking at me. Yeah, right. As if he could get me out of this job which I can’tjust because of his cousin that I just met.
Ally grabs a hold of my hand andsmiled, “Well, see you tomorrow then. It’s a beach party, so wear somethingappropriate. Boring swim suits are not allowed, okay?”
I just nodded awkwardly. As If Icould really go there though.
