I woke up the next morning to the annoying buzz of my alarm. I reached for my phone on the side table.
7:50am
My classes start by 9 so m not running late. I don’t feel like going to school today, I already know what happened yesterday is already spreading around school like wild fire but I could any miss anymore days in school or mom would end up having a heart attack or even a stroke.
I went to mason’s room to wake him up. He has an alarm too but he sleeps too deep that even an atomic bomb can wake him up. I just hope he doesn’t grow like this if not, he’s gonna have to be self employed.
“Mason get up, it morning’ I said shaking him awake.
“What! Already”
‘yes Mason”
“Five more minutes”
“Nope, you’re getting up now or else I and mom would leave you and you would have to walk to school”
“Fine”
I took a shower and wore a simple black top with jeans. I let my hair down , got my bag and went down stairs to the kitchen. Mason was eating his breakfast, eggs and bacon. I didn’t feel like eating anything so I made coffee, I mean i will need it to get through today.
“Let’s go guys”
Mum rushed out the front door and mason and I followed behind. I was about to get in mom’s car when someone hunked behind us.
“hey Emmy, you coming”
It was Jace. I was wrapped up in this whole Ryder situation I forgot he was picking me up today and now I have to face him.
What if he knows already?
“Alright mom see you later” I said looking at her
“OK, no ditching”
“Never”I gave her a small smile and headed towards Jace’s Porsche.
“Emmy you looking extra pretty today” Jace said as I got comfortable in the passenger seat.
Phew.He doesn’t know anything yet. I hope
“thank, but you know I didn’t even try right”
“whateves, you look good in everything”
We drove through the entrance gate and Jace parked in a free spot. We got out and headed towards the school building.
“Uhh Jace…you go ahead, I’ll meet you later”
“kk, see ya later”
I needed to get in without drawing attention to myself and walking with Jace would do the opposite.
I managed to get in without any drama. As I walked down the hall to my locker I tried to see if people were giving me any weird looks and thank God they weren’t.
I took my books I needed from my locker and went to class, Ella has being giving me the eyes since I got to class but that was all, a long as she is the only one , I don’t give a f**k.
I haven’t seen Ryder since I got to school, I mean it’s not like he’s always here anyways and now it was lunch time so I caught up to Jace.
We got to the cafeteria and there seemed to be chaos ,not a surprise, this is Brixton high after all, there’s always one drama or the other.
“let’s go see what happening”
Jace said looking over excited.
Before I could reply he dragged me toward the forming crowd.
I got to the front and regretted it immediately, RYDER was making out with a blonde who also appears to be senior. I couldn’t stop stop the feelings from last night from coming back I just couldn’t how could he, just yesterday he was with me now he is with another b***h, how am I even surprised he is a f*****g PLAYER.
Jace said something but I couldn’t hear as I ran off trying so hard not to cry. I could hear Jace calling out to me but I didn’t stop till I was close to the female toilet.
Jace does sport to me in no time
‘Emmy where are you going”
“Not now Jace, I need to be alone”
I went inside and locked myself in one if the stalls. I couldn’t hold in the tears anymore, I let them fall. I know how he is but I didn’t think he would have forgotten what happened and moved on already. So he really didn’t see me as anything important.
I was locked there for a while I dint want to learn neither did I want to skip class so I went back to class and managed to get through till closing time.
I went outside and I saw Jace was already waiting for me
‘What happened” he asked still looking worried
‘Mind your business” I and Jace have learnt to maintain our privacy that way we don’t have to tell our secrets
“Yes ma, so sassy should I drop you off” he said.
“No, I wanna get ice cream” I said pouting.
"Okay, ice cream we have”
The ride was silent; I could see Jace fighting the urge to ask what happened, so I decided to bring up a topic.
“Am tired of being single, aren’t you’ I finally said.
“who told you I’m single”jace said smirking
“ooh I forgot you’re a player”
“No am not dedicated to her cause I think I might actually love her”
“wait, what you have a girlfriend and I don’t know”
“Am sorry, I asked her out yesterday and you where nowhere to be found”
True.
“whatever so who is the lucky girl”
“Mia, the one from Art class”
“Yeah, I always see the way you look at her, thought you only wanted to f**k her” I said
“No I didn’t” he laughed
“Guess am alone then” I pouted
He peeked my check giving me a pitiful look .
We had ice cream and he dropped me off at home.
I took my bath and went down to prepare dinner. Mom was working late so I reheated some left over mac and cheese for me and Mason. After dinner, I went up to my room to catch up on some homework.
I went on f*******: afterwards and saw a post from Ryder, he was at a party with his friends.
The fact he doesn’t care he doesn’t care. I sighed and dropped the phone. I thought about everything until I fell asleep
