CHAPTER 4

2527 Words
Steve's POV I was at a meeting for a contract signing with Mr. Bernard and his son Ryker. Mr. Kevin Bernard used to be a board member of one of my companies, Samit Business and Litigations Ltd. He was a trusted employee, and his son, a good friend of mine. SBL Ltd. made a lot of goodwill in the market via his contacts and my money. A lot of money! Slowly, with his commissions and incentives, he bought 33% of the shares, and became a board member. It didn’t matter because I made crazy profits. I was still the boss and took the major decisions while he was just part of the discussions and somewhat influenced the other members. I used him for my gain. Of course, whenever I wanted to make a change, he would always turn every vote in my favor. It was all going great, until I caught him embezzling money. My money. I could have sent him to prison, but considering he was my friend's dad, I let it go. I just fired him and handed all the copies of the paperwork that was proof of the embezzlement to Ryker, telling him I didn't plan to use it. The news spread like wild fire and nobody wanted to hire an embezzler. He assumed that I broke out the news on purpose. He blamed me in front of the media, saying I was equally a part of the whole embezzlement. He even forged the documents I had returned under good terms, indicating that I took profits from the embezzlement. He probably thought I didn't have proof to prove his unworthiness. Turns out, letting him go was not a good idea. The fucker had the audacity to file a lawsuit against me on the charges of a false claim. They did everything to bring my reputation down in front of the media and the business world. My integrity was questioned on random platforms. Any public appearance I made ended on this topic. My blood boiled. I guess I was too lenient with them. I decided to call them for a meeting today to get over with this, once and for all. But all i could think about was her. Her perfect, round, fat ass, that felt so good against me that night. Her porcelain skin felt soft to the touch. Her chubby thighs, that I wanted wrapped around my waist. Her feisty little mouth, that could be punished in so many ways. And that slap-. "C'mon Stevie, you should know better than to hang us on a thin thread. Take my father back onto the board and we will drop all the charges.” Ryker said, bringing me out of my wild thoughts, while his dad sat next to him with his legs crossed, almost as if he owned the place. “They will not accept an embezzler as a board member. He isn’t trustworthy. Nobody would support it.” I retorted casually. “Fine, then make Ryker a board member. Or even better, hand him 16% of your shares, make him a partner at 49%.” His father said casually. When I didn’t respond to their stupid suggestion, Ryker added, “We've already destroyed your reputation in the business world. Your name and money won't be able to help you. You're known to be heartless, anyway." his smirk caused me to scoff at their audacity. "YOU of all the people are calling ME heartless?" I scoffed. "I could have you locked up in prison for the s**t you pulled off with just a phone call." I said nonchalantly. "You have no proof, or did you forget that you were naive enough to hand me your ticket out of this mess? You brought this on yourself." He smirked. I wanted to wipe that smirk on his face. I guess it's time to show them who they've been playing with. "A. I will not hand over any of my shares to the likes of you. B. I don’t care what you do with the lawsuit. And C." I grabbed a file from my drawer, and slammed it on the table. Folding my arms against my chest and leaning against the floor to ceiling windows of my office. I looked at them, staring at me in confusion. I gestured for them to go ahead and have a look at the file. Ryker picked up the file and widened his eyes as he opened it. He kept looking in between me and the file, while I turned to the corner of my office, and made a drink for myself. I hadn't handed him all the papers, just the ones that indirectly proved his father to be guilty. That too, the copies of the original papers. I kept the originals, along with a few documents wherein Mr. Bernard’s account was directly linked to the embezzlement, and my name wasn’t anywhere in sight. I had kept it with me as insurance, just in case something like this happened. Kevin stalked up to Ryker and snatched the file from him. His face slowly began draining of color. Sweat beads formed on his large forehead as he flipped through the pages. "These are the original documents explaining everything. I can easily clear my name and prove that you forged the documents." I said. My voice, cold with a glint of amusement. "One copy of these documents is in your hand and another with the deputy involved in your case. The originals, of course, are in my safe. I just have to make one phone call to the chief of his department and you'll be off to prison." I added. His face paled and he looked at me with pleading eyes. Hah! Now you want to beg! It was difficult to control the urge to smirk at their change in demeanor. I looked at them with a straight face and kept sipping my drink. So much for being friends, I scoffed mentally. I glanced at Ryker, who was trembling with anger. "What do you want?" He snapped. "To get back at you for the embezzlement and harassment you put me through." It was my turn to smirk. He looked down at his feet, then at his father. They exchanged some glances as if silently planning a way out. However, I had made sure that they wouldn't be getting away this time. "I let you go, the first time thinking of you as a friend. I'm willing to give you another chance. The documents won't be submitted to the court until I make the call. In exchange, I want your shares, your other businesses, your home and basically everything you own." I said coldly, hatred evident in my voice. "What makes you think we'll do that?" Ryker asked, his jaw ticking. "Or you could go fight a case that you’ll surely lose, losing everything along with the case, benefitting no one." I shrugged. "All I have to do is call the chief. At least this way, I gain something. And well, you don’t end up in prison." I said, mocking them. They were clearly terrified. I could feel their fear from the five-foot distance. "You move out of the country and never return. The day you do, you'll be landing straight in prison from the airport." I added. They exchanged a meaningful look with each other and then slowly nodded in approval. I suppressed a smirk that was trying to break out on my face. "You have a week to get out." I took out another file and slammed it on the table. "Here's the contract wherein you'll hand me all the papers of your house, your businesses and practically everything you own around here, consenting to the fact that you'll leave the country and never return. And if you do, you'll be sent to prison for the crime you committed and for breaching the contract." I explained with an evil smirk. "Fine!" Ryker snapped. Pulling out a pen and handing it to his dad. Mr. Kevin Bernard signed the contract without a second thought. Ryker stormed out of my office, his father following behind. That went well. I thought. Taking a seat on my swivel chair, I called my assistant, Maria, through the intercom. She picked up on the first ring, "What can I do sir?" "Send Ms. Lola Jones to my office with the Green Corp. contract file." I ordered. "Right away sir. Anything else?" She asked. "Yes. Cancel all the remaining meetings and reschedule them for the next week. I need a break." from her. "Right sir. Also, the invoices for the –" "I don't have time for that. Ask Jay to look into it." "Got it Sir." As soon as I hung up on her, my mind drifted straight to the beautiful vixen that had slapped me. If this goes on, I wouldn't be able to get any work done. Shaking my head, I buried my head in the stack of files resting on my table. A few moments later, there was a knock on my cabin door. Expecting to see Lola, "Come in." I called out. She walked in, swaying her hips in that tight short gray skirt paired with a white sleeveless shirt, with a deep V-neck, showing enough cleavage. I noticed how her full breasts bounced with every step she took. But she was nothing like the vexin currently occupying my thoughts. She reached my table and leaned on her hands, dipping her upper body a little, pressing the sides of her breasts with her elbows, to make the cleavage more prominent for me to see. I smirked at her desperation. How low can women stoop for money and fame? I strongly believe that all women only run after men for the lifestyle they can offer. It’s disgusting, but I still use it when required, because let’s face it, money is the only power. The more money you have, the more power you hold over people. And women fall for it all the time, because, here is another fact, all women are gold diggers. They fancy the luxuries and don’t care about the feelings. Men are a money-making machine for them and they f**k them in return for the said luxuries. I have been with enough women to know they pretend to "love" me for the lifestyle I can provide. It was disappointing to see these women throwing themselves at men for a little shopping trip. On second thought, maybe this is what I needed to get her out of my mind. A good f**k. I'm sure Lola wouldn't mind. Judging from her seductive antics, she would be happy to jump at the offer. "Anything you need sir?" Lola said seductively, bringing me out of my thoughts. I got up from my chair, rounded up the desk to reach to her side. I took a step towards her, closing the distance. Her tongue peaked out of her slutty little mouth and licked her lower lip. I felt disgusted by her trick instead of feeling enticed like I had hoped a minute ago. I would have f****d her, had she not been so desperate. She was just another gold-digger hoping to trap me with her body to use the power and money I earned. Unlike her. Ugh! I was going crazy about this woman I knew nothing about. I couldn't get her out of my mind and it was starting to piss me off. I leaned in further, grabbing her collar, I pulled her closer. "Is this the way to dress in an official environment?" I said with gritted teeth, my voice low and cold. Her expression changed from seductive to scared and flushed. I loved how fast her color changed. "Sorry Sir." She mumbled in a low voice. I let go of her and put a distance between us. I eyed her from head to toe, making her squirm under my cold gaze. I turned around to let her ease a little. "Is the Geller Contract done?" I asked with authority. "Wh... which contract sir?" She asked hesitantly. "The Geller Contract, with the Green Corp.? That's the file you are carrying. Isn't it?" I asked, losing my patience. "I... uh... I'm sorry sir." She stuttered. "What's the status? Did you draft it?" I was holding on to my anger with a very fine thread. "Uh... N... No Sir. I couldn't get the –" I turned around and glared at her furiously, cutting her off mid sentence. "First you break the dress code, then you act like a f*****g slut and now you can't even do your job!" I snapped coldly. My misdirected anger taking over. "I... I'm s...sorry sir." She stuttered again, pissing me off further. "I have no time for your bullshit apologies. I'm paying you to do your job right and not walk around dressed up like a f*****g prostitute. Either, get your s**t together or resign. You're useless to me anyway, if you can't pull off a simple contract. I don't need gold digging sluts walking around in my office. I could pay someone far less than what I do you to get that and more out of it." I yelled at her as tears started rolling down her face. "I need that contact drafted in by the end of the day. If you can't get it, don't bother coming back tomorrow." I said in a calm, cold tone. She stood there, looking at her feet. "Lola?" I called her out with raised brows. "Y...Yes S...Sir?" she said in a low voice. "Get out of my office and do what you've been asked to." I ordered. She rushed out of my office as soon as she could. I breathed a sigh of relief. I called Maria through the intercom. She picked up on the second ring. "Maria, I've asked Lola to get me the draft of the Geller Contract by the end of today. I'll be leaving now, so when she returns I want you to take it from her and email it to me." "Noted sir." "Also, Maria, I want you to fire her when she hands you the contract. Got it?" There was silence on the other side. "Maria?" I called. "But, sir, she is doing her job. It's not like we are close to the deadline any day." she sounded nervous. "Yea, but I'm pretty sure the contract that she'd draft would be too f****d up and you'd be the one fixing it. I might as well give you her salary to top yours and get the job done properly, than pay a dumb wit like her and get nothing." "Got it sir." I could hear the pride in her voice. "Good." I said before I hung up. I picked up my jacket and went out of my office towards the private elevator. The lift opened and I walked into it, pressing the button for the basement. The moment the lift started moving I received a message. I read it and it had me clench my jaw. This can't be happening right now.
