CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Two days after Adaku’s vision, Ikem visited the police station, where she was locked up, and had a secret deal with some of the policemen. Those policemen he met erased every record that showed that Adaku was in their custody. They collected a large sum of money from him and promised to carry out the special assignment he gave them.
That night, one of the officers came into Adaku’s cell and brought her out. He handcuffed her and took her to an unmarked car waiting outside the police station. She entered the back seat and was joined by three policemen, one sat behind the wheel, while the other two flanked her left and right. These officers drove off and took her to an unknown destination.
