13 - 13 - After returning to his room‌—‌and the fact that it felt like ‘his’ confirmed his need to keep moving‌—‌he slept a few more hours, waking with the dawn. He had one of the breakfast meals, and the hot food felt pleasing, even though he ate too much. Maybe, with all this travelling he’d been doing, he was becoming accustomed to a reduced diet. That might be something to watch. He could survive on less food, but would it give him the energy he needed? He’d eat well today, he decided, and build back up to larger meals. Whatever awaited him across the river, he needed to be in as perfect a state as he could manage.
