The first person Garb spoke to when he opened his eyes was Commander Newell, despite not being stable. After that, Newell prohibited any visits. Whatever Garb confessed to him, it stayed in the commander and didn't come out of that bedroom. Hunt didn't know what to think when he learned of his superior's order. He tried to sneak in an officer, posing as a relative, but Garb refused to speak to anyone, so the attempt was useless. Elijah had thought of involving Jarred's mother but doubted the old woman had the memory to contain any events the officer might tell her about. He didn't know why he was surprised when he saw Mrs. Sweet walk through the door of the police department. He became so engrossed in Jarred that for a moment he forgot what the main concern of the case was.
