CHAPTER 2

I threw my things to the ground as I ran to my car and threw my whole body weight at the guy who had my little brother in the air by his neck. Falling hard and I see all six of my siblings are a bloody mess and I see red “who did this to them I roared” John who was still on the ground trying to catch his breath pointed to the guy I just knocked to the ground. I put my siblings in the car locked them in their. I had all the answers I needed. I pulled the guy up and punched him in the face repeatedly until a pair of arms grabbed me from behind I fought against them the crowd left quickly “calm down beautiful it’s just me now” those words were my undoing I started to calm down and finally saw Lilly. I nodded to her as she ran into my arms “it’s TY! “ she half cried half screamed“ WHAT?! what did you say “ I looked at her crying harder I looked at the other five as they all nodded their head “ where” I practically growled “at school “ I put Lilly in the car not sure where to go Ryan put his hand on my shoulder “come to my place my father is the Alpha I’ll ride with you and my best friend will drive my car ” I nod on full alert when I see him and he does the same thing I was thinking. Charging right for me . I see my car speed off but Ryan is still with me I barely notice as Tyler and I are limbs connecting to the other my foot to his face , my fist to his face I finally caught a opening I kicked him in the groin then punched him in the face as I slammed him into the asphalt of the parking lot. “What did you do to them “ I spat at the person I once called my brother unconscious I kicked him in the stomach as Ryan dragged me to his car as the school security came to arrest him. Serves him right. Mrs.Reyes told me to go to the pack house and told me they called my mom and my job already and I was excused from work and Alpha Astford is waiting at the packhouse. I nodded and Ryan took me to his car I cringed as I got in his car compared to my beat up Nissan he thought I was pain as he gently helped me in . I sat back as he drove off but stopped a few miles away from my house. I looked at him questionably “ knowing dad he’s gonna make y’all stay with us let’s go get your siblings things and I can also look at your injuries “ I smile slightly I lean my head against the headrest with my eyes closed “I’ll be fine it’s John I’m more worried about” he grabs my hand gently “I know my beauty and I know that road burn has to hurt too“ I sighed “oh Ryan if only you knew how I’m no stranger to this pain so my handsome I say once more I’ll be ok” as a stray tear falls that was it for him he parks the car and holds me “ you were beyond beautiful back there I never been more mesmerized and pissed off for someone touching what’s mine never again will I let another man or woman family or not hurt you again my love please say you’ll be mine” there was only one way to answer that kind of proposal I sat in Ryan’s lap and kissed him passionately when we finally released all I could say is “yes” I got back in my chair and we drove the few miles to my home. It was trashed Ty had already been here then I saw it the message of one thing that could make my legs collapse from under me Ryan ran to me instantly and when he saw the message he dragged me out of my new home. Ryan was on the phone as quickly as he could probably with his father and no sooner my mother drove up and I ran to her collapsing in her arms she can’t see the message from her first born child the traitor of our family. Ryan came up to us and said his father would be here shortly and within five minutes the alpha and some other men were here at our front door we all walked in and I stopped at the kitchen “mom it’s not a good idea for you to go any further think of the rest of them “ she nodded “ Alpha do you think my daughter can finish here while I go to the pack house to check on the rest of my children?” “Of course Darla I’ll send a guard with you as well” we nodded at each other when her car left the drive way i knew what I had to do “ I’ll be right here next to you my love I’ll be your strength “ I looked up at Ryan as i nodded I walked to the small room before you get to the stairs and I grabbed Ryan’s hand for dear life. “ oh my” Alpha Astford commented. “Jamerson take pictures you know the drill” “Rose I’m sorry for what you as well as your family is going through but I must ask who is little bunny?” The alpha asked “ me . it’s the nickname my father gave me as a little pup “ “have you talked to your father today “ the alpha questioned “ no but he sent me a text message this morning “ he nodded and before he could ask I gave my new Alpha my phone to read the message a small smile played at his lips as he gave the phone back” all finished sir” the one named Jamerson announced “upstairs as well ?” Alpha inquired “nothing to report as far as I could tell” Jamerson responded I walked into my moms room and packed two suitcases nothing out of place as Jamerson and Ryan took them down next the twins’ room I sighed I hate going through their stuff they were so particular but to my surprise they didn’t pack much toys and books and packed necessities for once huh I’m actually proud of them as I put the four suitcases in the hall as we all grabbed one each and went down stairs I saw men putting the suitcases in the trunk of an suv then I saw the boxes of photo albums and pictures we were gonna hang I handed it to Jamerson and Ryan as they took them down stairs I went to John and Corry’s room packed their things and then went on to Emma and Lizzy’s room I knew Ryan was watching me I finally sat up and went to him “ I’m ok when I’m ready to break I’ll come to you I promise “ he smiled that smile I loved as he sighed with relief as I finished in the girls room we took eight bags down .lastly my room as I got to my room and opened the door I heard screaming not realizing it came from me until Ryan was holding me to his chest comforting me. blood. all I saw was blood. but who’s ? they tried to pull me away but the picture there’s only one picture I want “my dad’s picture “ I sobbed into Ryan’s chest he nodded and his dad gave me and then Ryan equipment to go in without tainting any evidence I grabbed the bloody frame took it out to see writing on the back which read” the blood is on yours paws little bunny” I lost all ability then Ryan had no choice but to pull me out of my room the picture is evidence we took off the equipment and I collapsed on the living room floor Ryan seeing me ran up to me to hold me not once letting me go. A picture fell from Jamerson hand “has bunny talked to daddy today “ written on the wall by the stairs Ryan quickly picked it up as I laid my head on Ryan’s shoulder. Today has been too much and I have homework to do still “Ryan “ I croaked he looked down at me and nodded. He took me to the car and his father walked up “get her to the pack house keep an eye on her I’ll be back as soon as I can “

The drive to the packhouse wasn’t long but it wasn’t a short trip either when we arrived I saw we were in a garage Ryan turns to me “this garage has an elevator that goes to all the floors do you wanna shower first or see your family?” Ryan asks with such softness I try to smile but can’t he notices “I know my love but let me take care of you don’t worry about me let me worry about you “ I nod “shower plea..se” I try not to cry and break down as he scoops me up into his arms and we go to the elevator we stop on a floor and he takes me to a room with an adjoining bathroom ill go find you some things wait here a second. I was alone for a moment at least. I finally got the courage to look in the mirror what I saw had me distraught how could anyone look at me like this let alone Ryan. Ryan who’s my boyfriend now Ryan who makes me feel safe Ryan who ….. I think I’m falling in love with after not even a whole day of knowing him. I try to take my workout shirt off but I’m met with pain great this is gonna suck right before I yank the shirt off Ryan comes in and drops the things he brought with him to the floor as he runs up to me “don’t please my love you’ll rip the skin let me help let me take care of you“ “how ? I look horrible how can you even look at me when … “ he shuts me up with a kiss “because my beautiful Rose you are more than just looks of beauty your smart and a talented and skilled athlete as well as a fighter now let me take care of you “ I nod “hope this shirt doesn’t have any sentimental value I shook my head as he cut it off and began soaking my back to help the cloth release from my wound after a while of Ryan rubbing my arms and shoulder it soon began to slide off and Ryan was able to take it off he handed me some body wash shampoo and conditioner and clothes “ call me when you’re ready for the salve to be put on” I nod as I shut the door to take my shower and try not to scream in pain as the water hit my open wounds I shower as quickly as I can and wash all the dirt from my hair and body I notice a pair of sweats and a tshirt and my gym bag from earlier today I smile I put my bra on and put salve on the wounds on my legs now the hard part my back I open the door a crack “Ryan ?” “I’m here love “ he says with such love “ I need … “ I look down ashamed he grabs my hand “I’ll help” he leads me to the bed where im in my bra and sweats that i’m guessing are Ryan’s as he’s about put the salve on my back my mother walks in “Rosey they said you’d be in here oh my lord what’s going on in here!” “ mama I can explain “ I yelled as I jumped to my feet. Alpha sees the situation and sees the salve and whispers in her ear the situation and her face lightens as she walks out “ let’s finish so we can explain” Ryan says as he kisses my head I nod and let him put the cool salve on my back I’ll be better my morning if not before bed I think to myself. Once finished and bandaged up we go in search of our parents and find them talking both understood the situation and mom being thankful she didn’t have to do it this time we all laughed. It was only then that it dawned on me that I have no clothes. We left the room to only be tackled by six curious children also known as John,Corry, Rey, Lilly, Emma, and Lizzy. After one look at me John was ready to shift I had to get him away from the others before they get hurt. Rey grabbed one side and I grabbed the other dragging him away I followed Rey to a courtyard. “What did Ty do to you “he roared as he was half shifted. My mother, Ryan, and and Alpha Astford came running trying to calm him down but to no avail I did the one thing I knew might work or I could end up in even worse state than I already am but I had to try something I went straight to my little brother and hugged him “I’m ok Johnny “ I said quietly one look at me and he knew I was telling the truth he calmed instantly shifting back. Relief crossed every face but none more than Ryan. I was truly exhausted and I told John and Rey I’m ok and to let the others know I’m ok as well that I just need rest and I’m tired and we will all talk in the morning they nodded and as they left exhaustion finally took over as I finally lost all ability to stand as Ryan caught me. Ryan took me back to the the bedroom we were in earlier. “This is my room and I’m insisting you stay in here with me tonight just for tonight than it’s your choice my beautiful Rose” I nod to tired to argue as my body couldn’t take any more and i begin to fall and all I hear from Ryan as runs to try and catch me “s**t!! ROSE!!”

When I woke up it was still dark out Ryan was asleep in a chair next to the bed holding my hand my whole body felt sore as I tried to move without waking Ryan but instead he jolted awake like a live wire “Rose?” He said sleepily “go back to sleep my Ryan “ I smiled “ROSE!” He held me so tight then I felt something wet when I pulled back I saw him crying “what’s the matter? what happened ? Is it mom ? The kids? What happened with…” he cut me off with a kiss “ My Rose my beautiful Rose” he sighed as he put his forehead to mine “don’t ever scare me like that again my love “ he sighed “ what … what are you talking about it’s only been a few hours “ I look at Ryan like I’m missing something important but not knowing what yet he looks at me with such love and devotion but concern as well “ my love you passed out and have been asleep all day it’s almost midnight my love “ what he said finally began to register “are you ok my lovely?” He ask tenderly. Am I ok ? I think I am at least. I nod and let a sigh out as I sit at the edge of the bed with Ryan holding my hand but I need more I need to be in his arms I need the feeling of being safe “ Ryan … “ he looks at me with tears in my eyes he gets in bed with me and holds me I didn’t even have to ask I lay my head on his shoulder as I fall apart and break as Ryan holds me tight not once letting me go as I cried and my body shook. Why would Ty come back now? Why torture us ? Why torture me? Why ? The questions were beginning to flood my head the concerns for my siblings my mother and now especially my father.

After I calmed down Ryan took me to the pack hospital to get an all clear and once I was cleared saying my wolf had taken over to help me heal and that’s why I passed out Ryan felt better but I still couldn’t see my family as they are all asleep and I needed food. now! so Ryan warmed us some pizza and got us some cokes. As we ate I noticed he has not once let his hand leave me leg not that I minded I liked it a lot actually. “So ummm you don’t talk about your old pack much do you “ i stiffen and try and gather my composure quickly but he noticed and stopped eating then “ what is it rose ? Something happened for y’all to run “ the question sounded more like an accusation and my temper flared I looked at Ryan and stoped eating I pushed my plate away and left the kitchen “ rose ? I’m not like other … “ he cut me off “ I’m not accusing you my rose but I do need to know how to protect you if it comes to it “ with a sigh I looked at my shoes “ yea some things happened “ I finally replied still not able to look at him as I looked out past the court yard “things cause of an … ex “ I looked at him than as he growled the last part but I couldn’t help but laugh he looks at me like I have lost my mind “ no your my first everything Ryan . First boyfriend, first kiss, first guy I have trusted sense … “ I trailed off he knew the answer at those words he grabbed me by my hips and brought my body to his as he kissed me as I wrapped my arms around his neck as we kissed under the moon light a growl was then heard as I saw my little brothers not far from us John was pissed again “John calm it “ I instructed Cooley as Ryan looked at us three. Rey rolling his eyes and Cole trying to not laugh cause they caught me “dads gonna have a field day with this “ a voice said from the dark. TYLER. Instinctively I knew I had to protect my brothers only thing is they have all shifted but are untrained and they knew it I never took my eyes off Tyler once as we squared off again “ surprised Luke hasn’t gotten you yet little sister “ “ I’m not going to any asshole you promised me to just cause you loose a bet brother or should I say traitor. Traitor to the pack traitor to the army and most of all traitor to the family “ that was it I lit the flame as he shifted and my wolf took over she’s white as snow with Colbert blue eyes a few patches of grey through her coat where my brother is a chocolate brown wolf and patch of grey over his left eye the color of a dark denim jeans we fought and fought till the guards came but it was then he struck me and I finally struck back but he injured me bad we both knew it I whimpered that was Ryan’s undoing as he shifted and tried to go after Tyler my brothers shocked as I layed injured on the ground but I refused to shift back my brothers didn’t need that image they are only thirteen and fourteen Ryan came back fuming but one look at me on the ground was it for him as he shifted back as house keepers , guards , my mother and sisters came out . mom had a robe for me as she layed it on top of me as I shifted back. Ryan’s dad made an appearance then Ryan holding me as his father layed a robe over his son as he put it on. Ryan took me back to the hospital as my family followed and Ryan’s father barking orders to find Tyler and put him in the dungeons with wolfsbane I tried to close my eyes but Ryan wouldn’t let me “ keep those beautiful blue eyes on me love please “ as he layed me on the gurney the doctors push him and my family out as they worked on me. Forty-five minutes later with lots of pain medication in my system and a couple dissolvable stitches later and I’m ok Ryan brought me a large t-shirt a thin hoodie and some sweats as I looked at him I noticed he was wearing similar clothes to what he just brought me. I told my siblings to go to bed that I will see them tomorrow probably not early but I’ll see them they weren’t happy with my response especially John but obeyed me anyway. Ryan was on edge and I knew why hearing what he had would put any boyfriend on edge “ let’s go talk in our room“ I suggested he nodded when we got to the room Ryan threw me a hoodie “ I looked at him questioningly “ I rather you wear my hoodies “ “ come take this one off me then” I said teasingly but instead I lit a fire in his eyes as he pounced on me kissing every inch of me a moan escaped my lips as he cupped my bare breast if only he knew what he does to me how safe he makes me feel how much love he pours into my soul as he pulled the hoodie over my head. “Don’t tease me like that again I won’t be able to stop myself next time my love besides we have things to talk about “

I knew this talk was necessary but I also knew it would make us or break us and so soon in our relationship. As I looked out the big bay windows that looked out over the river “ you know there are rumors as to why my pack is at war right “ I ask Ryan still looking out the windows he just nods “ what most people don’t know is they are partially true” I expected shock , anger, what I didn’t expect was love “I’ll always protect you “ it was then I looked up at him and saw nothing but love for this man I just met at school the kid who has stollen my heart and I knew I could trust him full heartedly. “Most packs know my brother Tyler not just because him and the the beta’s son are best friends but because he has a bad gambling problem about a couple years ago he ran into Alpha Luke Steele of The Red River Pack at a gambling house where he beat the Alpha Steele out of Two thousand five hundred dollars and went their ways but my brother being his stupid self bid his car and lost it and the guy who won it already left so he asked Alpha Luke to give him a ride in exchange for five hundred dollars which he agreed when he got home I had to sneak him in and that was the first time Alpha Luke saw me“ “ I don’t understand love how does this connect to the war and rumors of treason with your brother “ I sighed “ I was hoping you hadn’t heard that one “ “ gossip spreads quick beautiful now come here I hate us being this far apart” I smiled as I went to the man who makes me feel safe as he envelopes me in his arms and holds me “well a couple days later my brother went back to gamble and the alpha Luke asked who I was my brother being the i***t he is betted a date with me but the alpha wanted one better. marriage …“ “wait that’s illegal with all packs world wide” I nodded “my brother lost the bet Alpha Luke won my brother ran to the car and drove like a bat out of hell back home woke me up and told me needless to say I was pissed and still am my parents had a field day trying to pin me off him and when they did he confessed to them my father was ready to kill him but my mother being the kind nurse wouldn’t let him we thought he would come back to our home to demand for me but instead of Alpha Luke Steele coming to us he went to our alpha threatening war if I wasn’t turned over to him in 72 hours of course our alpha said no and the war started but what most people don’t know is that my brother dropped of high school sophomore year and joined the army and when he was called to protect and go to war he was no where to be found“ i looked out the window again “ my father though he stayed to give us time to escape as soon as Alpha Luke’s army was getting to close to our home we escaped but for how long till we have to move again “ I sighed “ your not leaving me “ Ryan said sternly I looked up at him as he bent down and kissed my lips “I only just found you I’m not loosing you and especially to a couple of gambling punks“ Ryan said with no nonsense that only a future alpha has. I curled up into his arms and shut my eyes. “Come on love let’s get to sleep we have a big day tomorrow“ huh what was he talking about all I knew is I had to get up early as hell to get homework done “ don’t worry school has been cancelled the rest of the week because of Tyler were fine love when it comes to our homework “ I nodded and snuggled into Ryan’s arms as he kissed me goodnight as I drifted off to sleep once more in the arms of a man I can gladly call my boyfriend.
