Chapter 5

Renlian:

Unknowingly to Kaylen and Hades, I had been keeping Hades in check. I was manipulating his impulses ever so slightly so he wouldn’t realize something was up. I didn’t think I could get away with it for long before either of them began to suspect something was up. When Kaylen recommended going for a walk, I thought it'd be the perfect chance to confront his wolf.

When I asked to talk to Hades, he looked incredibly concerned but I was determined to do this. I turned around so he could strip and shift. Moments later I could hear the cracking of bones. It sounded bad, but I knew that they didn’t feel pain during their transition. I turned around right as he completed his shift.

Hades was overly excited and came running towards me. I stood my ground firmly and commanded, "SIT!"

Hades came skidding to a halt confused at my determination. He sat in front of me as instructed.

"Hello Hades."

Hello mate.

"Are you going to behave?"

Don’t wanna.

I crossed my arms an looked at him like a teacher scolding a student. He hunched down a bit at my motion. Despite his best efforts he didn’t actually want to make his mate angry with him.

Maybe I will behave a little.

"That's better. Now me and you need to have a talk."

We could talk, or we could make pups.

"Hades!"

He whimpered. He didn’t like being scolded.

"As I was saying. I am not a wolf. I need time to adjust and you being a horndog isn't going to help."

Horndog? How rude.

I raised an eyebrow and he backed down again. "I am going to make a deal with you. I know I can't hold you at bay forever. But I need time to figure this all out and to actually get to know Kaylen. So here is my proposal. Two weeks. Give me two weeks to get settled and figure this all out. After that you are free to have your way with me. If I initiate sooner then feel free. But paws off for two weeks."

Two weeks?!

"Would you rather I reject you ad it's never?"

I can wait two weeks. He pouted.

"Good. Shake on it." He lifted his big paw and shook my tiny hand. It was actually very adorable and I couldn’t help myself. I started petting him and scratching behind his ears. He wagged his tail super happy with the attention. And rolled over showing his belly. I rubbed his belly and he stuck his tongue out. I couldn’t help but bust out laughing. Amidst my laughter he shifted back and got dressed.

"Damn." he said.

"What?"

"I never thought that a look could be lethal. But damn, did it put me and him in our place."

"So you heard our arrangement?"

"Yes. Are you sure about this?"

"Yes, I think this is the best option. I am just glad he actually listened."

"Me too."

He walked over to me and put one hand on the side of my face. "You are breathtaking."

My breath caught in my throat. Just his hand on my face was sending liquid fire through my veins. I may be doing my best performance to make him think I don’t feel the bond. But the truth is I do, just as much as he does if not in a whole different kind of way. I knew I couldn’t just jump his skin or it would blow my cover. It's why I negotiated two weeks. I didn’t think I would last longer than that.

I could see the desire in his eyes but he controlled himself for my sake. I forced myself to look away from his eyes. He also turned away to compose himself.

We walked back to the pack house in silence. He walked me all the way to my bedroom door.

"Good night Renlian."

"Good night Kaylen."

He turned to walk away and then whipped around. "Sorry I just need to do this." and he pressed his lips to mine. Fire spread through my core and beyond my control I was aroused. His eyes changed and I could tell he could smell my arousal. I pulled away quickly and ran into my room slamming the door shut. f**k, that was close. Two weeks might be harder than I thought.

Kaylen:

I am not mistaken right. I kissed her and she was turned on. I could smell her sweet arousal. Holy s**t. Hades jumped up in anticipation but she ran into her room and slammed the door. I was having a hard time controlling hades. They just made that deal but if she was going to get aroused by a simple kiss this was going to be much harder than I thought. f**k.

I needed to cool off. Hades was only feeding off of my desires. I jumped in the shower not even stripping my clothes off. I let the water run over me as I tried to calm myself down. It wasn’t working. I tried my best to stop thinking of her but I kept remembering how soft her lips were and how she melted into the kiss. I wanted to rip her clothes off and take her right there. I imagined what she would look like undressed and under me. f**k I am hard.

I stripped my clothes off grabbing my member stroking myself off. I kept up the fantasy. I thought how she would moan underneath of me. Would she call my name. I would take in her in every way possible. I got myself to c*m and I began calming down. Hades was not satisfied with this temporary fix. I pushed him back and continued to wash myself.

By the end of my shower I had calmed down. I got dressed and crawled in bed. I hoped morning came quickly.

Renlian:

I am so f****d. I barely got any sleep last night, was so wound up after just one single kiss, which is ridiculous. I thought about getting myself but thought better of it as Kaylen would have been able to smell it and I don’t know if he would be able to keep Hades under control.

So I just laid there most of the night horny as hell and not being able to calm down enough to sleep. The sun was peeking through by the time exhaustion won over. I got maybe three hours of sleep before Max knocked on my door to wake me up. This was going to be a long day.

"Hey Ren, sorry to wake you."

"No worries. And Ren? Your sister works quick."

"Haha, yes she does. She was going on the whole time at dinner about how excited she is to have you here and Ren just kind of stuck."

"Figures. What is the plan for today?"

"Once you are up and dressed and fed, we have a reservation for a moving truck and a bunch of boxes so we are going to head to your place to pick everything up. We got your bag by the way."

"Yah I saw. Thank you." Max took his leave and I rummage through my backpack. I found my cell phone. My grandfather had texted me asking if everything is ok. I replied, 'wolves. Alpha's mate. Delete after reading.' I sent the message and deleted the phone history. My grandfather would know what I was getting at.

I didn’t have anything else to wear and I figured the sweats and t-shirt was just fine for packing. I headed down to the dining room. There were tons of more pack members in here this morning. They were all eating breakfast after their morning training. When I walked into the room many pack members turned to look at me and started to whisper among themselves. Then they all suddenly froze. I am guessing Kaylen ordered them to stop their gossiping over the mind link.

When I reached the table Kaylen was at everyone at the table stood up. Kaylen pulled a chair out for me and after I sat down everyone else did. I keep forgetting I am their future Luna. I will have to get used to this.

Without asking Kaylen just started loading up a plate with a little bit of everything and put it in front of me.

"I can serve myself you know."

"I know but I want to make sure you are well fed. Couldn’t have you ending up malnourished on my watch."

"I don’t think that would ever be a worry with Mrs. Hardy's cooking."

"Touché."

I dug into the food and then everyone started clearing out putting their dishes away and cleaning up after themselves. When I finished eating my plate was quickly whisked away by an unknown pack member.

"We have a busy day today. You ready to go?" Kaylen said to me.

"Yup." I followed them out the door and messaged grandpa 'on our way all clear?'

He replied quickly, 'yup see you soon.'

See me soon? I paused in my tracks and Kaylen looked back at me. "Everything ok?"

"Yah, I was letting my grandfather know I was headed to pack my stuff and he said see you soon. He might be about to interrogate you."

"Grandfathers permission huh? I figured it would be your dad I would have to answer to."

"My dad died before I was born. My grandpa is all I have."

He look a little taken aback by my statement. I was wondering what was going through his head. "Sorry, I didn’t know."

"How would you? We have had 1 solid conversation so far."

He still lowered his head feeling guilty. We loaded into a black SUV with Ian, Max and two other pack members I hadn't met yet.
