I spotted Carlisle was pacing up and down when I entered the room. She did not notice me enter, or the sound of the door opening. I could hear her mutter under her breath, and I caught some choice curse words spilling from her lips.
As soon as I had shut the door behind me, she jolted and turned around, finally noticing that there was another person in here with her. She gaped at me briefly before shaking her head, bringing herself to focus.
“What are you doing here?” She snapped at me, leveling a sharp glare at me.
“Why?” I could not help but ask, crossing my arms. She mimicked me, crossing her arms over her chest as well, scrunching her face up in a way that made her look equal parts adorable and intimidating.
