☞ I had told Catrina that I would do the dinner seeing as Angeline was going. So right now I was getting ready, I was nervous to have dinner with my bosses. Catrina I was fine with, but Mrs. Leto? Not so much.
"Girl, you ready to go?" Angeline asked. We had gotten so much close in only a little span of time. She knew so much about me and I knew so much about her.
Why hadn't we became friends earlier? "Yeah, can you help me tie my dress first?" I asked, she nodded and walked in my room, tying my dress up for me. After that we both walked out. My dress wasn't too extreme, neither was Angeline's, but we did wear okay dresses.
"Are we going to the dinner table or to like the guest one?" We had two dining rooms. On where they have guests, the other for them to personally use.
Angeline sighed. "Maybe the normal one where we all go to, it seems fit since we live here and aren't guests." She shrugged, we walked hand in hand, to the dining room.
The dining room for personal use was small, it didn't need to be big for personal family members. And they didn't have a large family. When we got there, Catrina and Mrs. Leno were whispering things in each others ears.
Catrina giggled and opened her eyes, looking at us and standing up. "Hi girls, you made it!" She said, she hugged us both and let us sit down. "The good will be ready in a minute, while we wait, let's talk!" She said to us.
Angeline and I looked at each other and giggled. Mrs. Leno cleared her throat and we looked over at her. "Hi Mrs. Leno." Angeline smiled, she Mrs Leto looked at me, so did Angeline with a smirk on her face. "Hi Mrs. Leno."
"You both call my wife by her name, you guys can do the same for me. Just don't go blabbing it off to my other staff." She said, we both nodded.
"I know we don't usually do this, but we just want to thank you both. You both work a lot, with schooling, doing this job, and just in general." Catrina said.
We nodded. "It's no big deal, I like cleaning, and staying busy." I smiled, she nodded. "But you guys do need a break, even a raise which I'll be happy to give you."
"I don't need a raise." I shook my head, and Angeline nodded as in agreement. "We already make enough money as it is." Angeline said, Catrina smiled.
"It would be no problem for us anyway, we make a lot of money we need to get rid of it somehow." Catrina continued the conversation and I really did try to keep up but Angeline and her are talking machines.
Mrs. Leno... well Xandria would chime in once in while but I just kept quiet. Dinner had arrived which was lasagna soup and it looked delicious. "Thank you." I smiled.
We ate our food, still talking in between. The food was so good, and I actually liked this. I opened up a bit more too. "I think I'm stuffed." Angeline said, holding her stomach.
I giggled, wiping my mouth. "It was really good, I think I'm gonna have to ask for a recipe." I said, Catrina smiled. "I'm glad you loved it. Lasagna soup is one of Xandria's favorites." She said, I glanced over at Xandria who was already looking at me and I smiled.
She didn't have any expression on her face at all which made me think that she actually hated me still. I looked at Angeline who was looking at me too as Catrina talked to Xandria.
She leaned close to my ear. "She kept looking at you all dinner." She said, I rolled my eyes and let out a pfft sound. Catrina looked over at us and I smiled awkwardly. "She was just telling me something about her crush." I muttered.
"Ooo crush, do tell." Catrina smirked, I smirked at Angeline and looked away from her. "Oh he's someone you don't know, older." She shrugged.
Catrina raised an eyebrow. "You like older guys?" She asked, Angeline smirked and nodded. "Oh yeah, 100%." She said.
I looked at Xandria, she was looking at me as well. I softly smiled and looked away and from the corner of my eye I saw that she was still looking at me. I looked at her again and she looked away.
She was weird. Not let bad weird but confusing weird. Did she hate me? Did she like me? Would she ever make up her mind? After the dinner, I took a shower and did a bit of school work, I was still up, not tired at all.
I tried doing small things that would put me to sleep, but I would just end up in bed, with my eyes wide open.
Hopeless, I got out of bed and sighed, putting my slippers on and heading downstairs. I noticed that Sorinah was up, scrolling through her phone and sipping coffee. I quietly made my way to her, she glanced at me as I walked by. "Why are you up?" She asked.
I turned to look at her. "I honestly don't know, I just really can't sleep." I mumbled, shrugging and looking down. She hummed and I looked back at her. "I have insomnia, so I don't sleep most of the night. So I just drink coffee and spend time in my office." She said.
I titled my head. "So you're up all night?" She shook her head. "No. I work until I fall asleep." I nodded, going into the fridge. "Would you like anything?" I asked.
"You're not working now. You don't have to if you don't want to." She said, I shrugged, glancing back at her. "I don't mind, and I'm offering." I smiled.
She nodded. "Anything you make is fine." I turned back to look at the fridge, I was just gonna make some sandwiches, nothing fancy. It was 2 in the morning.
I put all the stuff in the island and started making them. I looked at Sorinah to see once again, she was already looking at me. "Do you and Catrina always have dinner with staff?" I asked.
She shrugged. "No not usually, but you guys work more than everyone else. I see that you washed dishes instead of the people are know to clean the kitchen, you pick up behind everyone." She said.
"I think you work harder than that Ava chick." She said, I giggled. "Her name is Angeline but I promise she does work." We became silent again, I continued making the sandwiches and putting the stuff up. I sat down across from her, sighing and taking a bit into the sand which. It was mid. "Do you like being online for school?" She asked.
I shrugged. "I don't mind it. I definitely wish I was in person but I'm fine with it, it gives me time to do things." I said, she hummed and nodded. "I haven't been rude have I?"
I shook my head. "Nope. I mean I haven't had a problem with you since ya know, the office incident."
She chuckled. "I actually wanted to laugh that you fell, but that would've been even meaner." She chuckled, I smiled softly, shaking my head. "I was worried you were actually pissed."
"Oh yeah I was, but at the same time, I needed a reason to get rid of that top. Cat loves it but I don't." She said, I smiled at the nickname. "Don't you two have an anniversary coming up?" I asked.
She nodded. "Yeah, I'm looking at a trip that she and I are gonna take." She said, I nodded. I found it strange how fast my feelings had rushed back to her.
I went from liking her, to hating her, to liking her again. She just has a magnet in her body. But I knew this little crush needed to go away, she's married and clearly loves Catrina a lot. "What's got you so quiet?" She asked.
"Oh nothing, but that's cute. I'm sure she'll love it." I smiled. "I'm gonna try and get some sleep now. Goodnight." I said, I stood up from the chair, pushed it in and made sure to throw the paper towel away.
I waved goodnight to her and went back to my room. I'm stupid and pathetic.
