☞ I couldn't wait to go see her. I couldn't wait to hang out with her at her lunch time. I told Angeline right away, I told her how Catrina was being rude, and starting an argument. Even though she had every right to.
We almost kissed, and she was married. But god I wanted to kiss her even more. I wanted to do so much more to her, I wanted her to take me.
Us talking made all my feelings come back, and maybe even stronger. But I needed to know my place. I was in the kitchen, finishing up school work, when Catrina came in, a fake smile on her face.
I would know because I faked my smiles a whole lot. "Oh Maeve..you're up." She said, I feel like I heard her teeth grid. "Yup, Xandria asked me to bring her some stuff so I will." I said.
She hummed, clearing her throat and looking in the fridge. "So you two have been getting close."
I nodded, shrugging. "Yeah, nothing really major. We just talk about tv shows and tattoos." I said, closing my laptop.
She turned around and leaned down against the island. "Has she tried anything with you?" She asked, I furrowed my eyebrows. Shaking my head. Even though she tried to kiss me I wasn't going to admit to it.
Sighing, she nodded. "Okay good. I fear that history might repeat itself." She said, I tilted my head. "Oh she didn't tell you?"
I shook my head. Is this about the girl that she brought up last night. "Oh dear." Catrina said, tsking. She stood up straight. "I'm gonna go now. Buh-bye." She said, grabbing her apple and leaving the kitchen.
I don't get what she just did there. But I shrugged it off and picked all my stuff up, I headed back into my room seeing as I needed to get ready. I was just putting pants a shirt on because it was nothing too fancy.
When I was done, I headed downstairs. I was actually going to drive because I had asked and Sorinah said I could drive one of her cars. When I told Angeline that, she was acting like a child high on candy.
I don't know why she keeps shipping Xandria and I together. Especially when she knows Xandria is a taken woman. I drove there, singing my little heart out. When I got there, there was a new receptionist. She gave me a smile. "Hi, may I have your name?"
"My name is Maeve Palmer." I said. "And do you have an appointment with Mrs. Leno." Well I wouldn't know. "No she doesn't, and for future times like this, just let her up." The girl nodded. I read on her tag that her name was Devyn.
A pretty name. Xandria grabbed my hand, as we walked to the elevator I looked back at Devyn who gave me a nervous smile. When we got in the elevator, she looked down at me. "Hi." She said, I smiled back at her. "Hey. What are we eating?"
"I have no idea yet, my other assistant said that I should try this place, five dudes, or whatever." She shrugged. "Five guys." I said, she nodded, letting go of my hand. I had missed it already, but that didn't stop her from sliding her hand to my waist. I shivered. "Have you been there?"
I nodded. "Used to. I stopped since I started eating more healthy." She hummed, stroking my waist. "And how'd you sleep darling?"
"Oh slept just fine." I shrugged. "What about you?" I asked her, she shrugged as well, smirking. "It could've been better." She practically whispered. I just looked up at her, no words needing to explain how much I wanted her.
She knew that. She saw right through me and licked her lips. She looked down at mine, and then back at my eyes. The elevator doors opened and she led me to her office, closing the door. "Did my wife question you?" She asked.
I nodded. "I don't know why but she seemed off to me." I said, she nodded. "Well she's already accusing me of cheating." She said, calmly. How is she so cool about it? She practically almost did? "She shook her head, chuckling. "She's funny." She said, I furrowed my eyebrows. "She really does put on a show."
I was actually so confused. "Let's change the subject yeah?" Her accent made words ten times better. Like so much better. I nodded, watching her press a black button. "We're ready for our lunch." She said. She let go of the button and smiled at me.
"Ya know I will never forget when you pretended like you didn't know me, and then decided to fire that girl." I said, smirking.
She looked down with a smirk on her face. "She disrespected you. So I fired her. I needed a reason to fire her anyway." She said, just then, there was a knock on the door which I assumed it was one of her assistants with the food.
"Come in." She said, the door opened. Xandria smiled and I looked back. But my eyes widened and I froze. My mom? What was she doing here? She worked for her? "Is everything alright?" Xandria asked.
I made no effort to move.
"You're a faggot Maeve! No daughter of mine will ever be one!" My mom yelled as she whooped me.
I cried as she hit me repeatedly. "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus! You are a sin! A walking sin!"
Tears had formed in my eyes. My mom had smiled softly. "Yes. Here's your food." I wanted to slap her, punch her. Tell her what type of mother she was. "You're dismissed." She said, holding her hand up. My mom left the office in a hurry, slamming the door behind her.
"Are you okay? What's happening?" My vision was pounding if that made any sense, I could hear my heart beat, my breathing was ragged and all I could think about was how my mother treated me.
"Lord I ask you come to me and cure my daughter of this disease. I ask that you watch over her and hope she gets better." My mom prayed.
"Mama I'm not sick I promise." I cried. The priest shook his head, grabbing my wrists. "Lord forgive me." Was the last thing I heard before my vision had gone black.
"Are you okay? What's going on with you? Are you having a panic attack?" Sorinah pulled me back in the real world. I grabbed her shirt, crying in her arms.
She stroked my back, shushing me softly. "Hey it's okay. I'm right here with you." She said, it took me a minute to calm down, to be able to breathe regularly.
When I did, I pulled back, she gave me a tissue to wipe my face. "We don't have to talk about it, but I feel like I already know why you had a panic attack. And I just want you to know, that she's blacklisted from any job she tries to get."
I softly smiled. "Thank you." I said. She nodded. "And she is being fired as we speak." She told me. "You don't have to do that for me. She's your employee." I said, she shook her head.
"Given her track record with not supporting the l***q community, I don't allow homophobia." She smiled and grabbed my hand.
"Are you okay now? Would you like to go home or should we eat?"
I nodded. "We can eat. But don't you have work to do?" I asked, she smirked. "I'm the boss darling, I get to decide when I work. Don't you worry." She winked, and she never let go of my hand.
