Peaceful

"I'm a big deal, I get sick and tired of holdin' it in." -Halle Bailey 『★』『★』『★』 ☞ IT was too peaceful. No problem in sight, nothing wrong. I liked it. But hated it. Mrs. Leno stayed out of my pathway and I out of hers. She's never listened to her wife before so I was shocked to know that truly listened to her. I liked how I could get things done without having to worry about her saying something to me. I haven't seen her since Catrina and her were kissing, I've just been cleaning and cleaning, doing my job, doing homework, it's been great. "Hey Meave honey?" Catrina asked, I looked up at her, since I was in the kitchen. "Im already late for work, I'm wondering if you can take the papers in Xandria's desk to her office?" "Please, you are the first person I thought of and I'm super late I accidentally slept in." I slowly nodded. I feel as though I basically manifest this stuff at this point. "Thank you so much, I'll pay you when I get back!" She left in an instant. I sighed, groaning to myself. Of course I of all people had to do it. I got up and made my way to my boss's office. It was weird being in here without wanting to cry. Because every time I've been in here, that's all I've wanted to do. But right now, I don't, I feel a little peaceful of course as I've said before. I don't feel like crying. I grabbed her papers off the desk, then closed the office door back up, and headed back downstairs. I spotted the driver, walking to him. "Hey, Catrina told me to drop some files off at Mrs. Leno's office." I told him. He stood up. "Follow me." Which I did. He led me outside and to the car, which we both got in. We made small conversation, I didn't really know him or his name until he told me. Which his name was James. He was 27 and had been working for them for a few years now. When we arrived there, he told me he would wait for me. I never really went outside, and when I did, I never regretted it. Her office was huge and beautiful on the outside. I walked inside, instantly meeting the eyes of the woman behind the desk. "Do you have an appointment?" She asked, I slowly shook my head, gripping the papers tightly. "No I don't." I said. "Your name?" She asked me. "Maeve." I told her. She eyed me up and down. "Well I'm afraid you can't come any further. You don't have an appointment and Mrs. Leno doesn't like anyone disturbing her." I nodded. "I get that. I mean I know her. But her wife, told me to give her these papers." I told her, and she faked her pout, then smiled. "Sorry for the inconvenience but if you don't have an appointment, you don't get in." She said. "I mean really, how would you have all people know her wife and her? Have you recently looked in the mirror?" She snickered, I looked down at my attire. I thought I looked decent. "Sam. That's enough." I heard a voice boom. And I knew it was Mrs. Leno. The girl, Sam, snapped her head over so fast I thought it was gonna snap off. "Hi, this girl claims to know you, which I know she doesn't." She said, Mrs. Leno looked me up and down, and smirked. "You're right. I don't. But she does have my papers for some reason." My mouth parted in shock. She looked at me with a small glare. "Did you steal papers from my wife or something? Because I have never seen you a day in my life." Sam looked at me with a scowl on her face. "Do you want me to call security?" She asked, Mrs. Leno sighed, shaking her head. She was faking it. What was wrong with her? Why was she pretending that she didn't know me? "No. You don't have to. Also, you're fired." Sam looked at her shockingly. "What?" She asked. "Even if I knew her or didn't, you still spoke to someone as if you looked better than them. And I can assure you, you don't." Mrs. Leno said. As much as I wanted to laugh, I didn't want to. She pretended as if she didn't know me. "You, come with me." She said, pointing to me. I looked at Sam one more time before trailing behind my rude boss. She didn't make a noise, that is until we got into the elevator. "Why did my wife not come herself?" She asked, not bothering to look at me. "Said she was late." I told her quietly. She didn't reply after that. I didn't try to make conversation with her. I just wanted to hurry up and get out. She led me out of the elevator and to and office to which she closed the door behind her. "Uhm, I just needed to give you these papers, nothing else." She didn't say anything besides sit at her desk and stare at me. Awkwardly, I stood there, almost waiting for her to insult me. But, nothing. Nothing at all. "Can I go now?" I asked, I sounded like a child who just got done getting lectured by their parent. She seriously didn't say anything, until I tried walking to the door. "No." She said. I frowned. Did she want me to go or not? Because she's not talking to me. "Sit down." She told me. "Uhm...James is waiting for me downstairs, I should probably head back." "Is James the boss or am I the boss? Because last time I checked he was basically an Uber for me and I was the one giving you a paycheck." She snapped. I gulped, listening to her and sitting down. "Eat with me." I slowly nodded, even though I wasn't hungry. There was a knock on the door which led her to tell them to come in. "Mrs. Leno, I have your lunch." I assumed she was the assistant. Mrs. Leno smiled at her. "Thank you Marie." She said after Marie handed our bids the lunch. Oh to be Marie. I can tell they were close, Marie didn't look scared, or upset with our boss. It was the opposite, she looked happy, excited to even step in the same room as her. I wanted answers, why was I getting picked on and why did it suddenly stop? It didn't seem like it truly stopped just then. "You think too much." I paused in my thinking, realizing I was still looking at the door. I looked at her, then at my fingers. It was crazy to think that I had a crush on this woman, I did still slightly have one on her. No person wouldn't be able to tell that she was one of the most gorgeous woman on the earth. She was both masculine yet feminine and she rocked both. Everything about her looked perfect. But she was a d**k. "You're still thinking." She said. I looked up at her, to see her looking at me, while taking a sip of her drink. "I don't know what to say." I said to her honestly. She nodded slowly, and pointed to the food. "You can have some if you want." I shook my head. "I already ate at your home, Which I need to get back to since I have school work." She stood up. "I'll walk you out." I'm so confused. What the f**k was the point of me sitting there after telling her I had to go? She confused me so much. I stood up and walked to the door, she beat me to the door, opening it for me. "Tomorrow, bring my papers again." She said to me, her hand grazed my waist since it was around the door knob and I was walking through the doorway. "Okay." I told her. I let out a deep breath when she closed the door behind. That was not the worst interaction I had with her. I just wanted to home honestly.
