Several days went by uneventfully, and it seemed like the mess from her being drugged had blown over.
But Cynthia doubted things had settled down. Vanessa and Rebecca weren't the type to let things slide.
Just as she was mulling it over, Andrew called. "Clear your schedule at noon. We're having lunch together. I'll have my car wait for you outside your office at eleven."
Given her grandpa still needed the drugs, Cynthia couldn't refuse.
Andrew picked her up from Johnson Group at eleven and they drove straight to Stewart Manor.
As soon as they walked in, they saw Rebecca in the living room.
"Why is she here?" Vanessa frowned. "I thought we were just having a simple family lunch!"
Cynthia noted the emphasis on "family", clearly meant to signal she wasn't included. Inside, she scoffed.
