When Cynthia and Wayne returned to the banquet hall, the dance had ended, and the host was delivering an enthusiastic speech on stage.
"Next, Stewart Group has prepared a special anniversary video to showcase our research and achievements over the past year. Let's all enjoy the VCR," the host announced.
The music started, setting the tone.
Everyone in the banquet hall sat quietly in their seats, ready to watch.
Rebecca saw Cynthia by the stage, pretending to smile warmly. "This video was meticulously prepared by Cynthia. It's sure to be impressive."
Cynthia glanced at Rebecca, her lips curling into a cold smile, and without hesitation, pressed the play button on the controller.
The screen didn't display a medical video. Instead, it showed a woman wearing high heels, smoking a cigarette, and cursing loudly.
The camera zoomed in to reveal the woman attempting to crush a kitten with her heels!
"Oh my God, she's hurting that cat!"
"What a horrible woman!"
The guests were horrified.
Rebecca watched the video in shock, recognizing the outfit instantly. Her eyes widened, and her face turned pale as she realized what was happening.
Her hands trembled as she desperately turned to Andrew. "Andrew! Stop them! Please, stop the video!"
But it was too late. The video continued, and the woman's face came into full view.
Everyone realized it was Rebecca!
"Good God, what have you done..." Andrew stared at the screen, his mouth agape in disbelief.
Andrew's face darkened as whispers spread through the crowd.
He hadn't had time to stop the video before it showed the entire scene of Rebecca hurting that cat.
The room buzzed with shocked murmurs. All eyes turned to Rebecca, filled with curiosity, disdain, and amusement. The once glamorous and admired Rebecca was now the center of scandal.
"It wasn't me!" Rebecca suddenly screamed in desperation. "It wasn't me! Andrew, you have to believe me!" She grabbed Andrew's arm. "It was Cynthia! She set me up!"
Watching Rebecca's frantic state, Cynthia felt a wave of satisfaction. She had obtained the video from the building's external security cameras, revealing a side of Rebecca no one knew.
Rebecca's gaze shifted to Cynthia, and she stormed over in a few quick steps, raising her hand to strike her. "You b***h! You set me up!"
Cynthia calmly caught Rebecca's wrist, her voice steady. "Why would I set you up? I'm just as surprised as anyone that the meticulously prepared video was replaced with this."
"You're jealous that Andrew loves me and not you!" Rebecca shouted in a rage, not thinking clearly.
The guests gasped, astonished that the professional event had turned into a dramatic love triangle.
Cynthia glanced at Andrew, who was staring at her with a dark, accusing look, as if she were the villain. Unbothered, she smiled and turned to step onto the stage.
"Sorry for the unpleasant experience," Cynthia said confidently into the microphone. "I don't know what history Rebecca and Andrew share, nor do I care about their current relationship. But today, out of personal vendetta, Rebecca disrupted Stewart Group's meticulously planned medical exchange banquet and ruined everyone's evening..."
Rebecca was livid, disregarding the setting and her status, and yelled at Cynthia, "Stop pretending to be innocent. You stole Andrew from me! What did I do wrong?!"
Cynthia smirked, adjusting the microphone. "I stole him? Andrew and I are married. You've known that for a while, haven't you, my dear little sister?"
Rebecca trembled with rage, almost losing her balance. "How... how dare you..."
She actually publicly revealed their marriage without Andrew's permission!
Andrew glared coldly at Cynthia on the stage. "Cynthia, you've crossed the line." It was obviously a warning.
Cynthia looked at the two of them mockingly. "Rebecca Johnson seduces her brother-in-law, shamelessly. The president of Stewart Group indulges in his lover, neglecting his duties. How's that for a headline?"
Rebecca couldn't hold back her breakdown, crying hysterically. "I didn't! That's not true... no..."
She had always been the proud princess, the apple of their parents' eyes. Even though Cynthia was her sister, Rebecca had always been considered superior at home. She had never faced such humiliation. The disdainful looks from the crowd felt like knives stabbing into her pride. She wished she could disappear.
Seeing people pull out their phones to take pictures, she frantically covered her face, screaming, "Don't! Delete those photos! All of you!"
Cynthia watched Rebecca's meltdown with a blank expression, recalling the suffocation she felt before dying and her unborn child. Her heart turned cold.
Rebecca, this was just a little appetizer. The main course was yet to come!
Finally, Andrew stood up, silencing the crowd and ordering Rebecca to be taken away. Rebecca's cries and screams caused more chaos.
After calming everyone down, Andrew looked up at Cynthia on the stage, as if seeing her for the first time, his dark blue eyes filled with scrutiny and indifference.
Cynthia met his gaze fearlessly. The tension between them was palpable, and the room fell silent.
Everyone was eager to see how this drama would end.
After a moment, Cynthia's clear voice echoed through the hall once more.
"Oh, and Andrew, I have some good news for you!"
Cynthia raised her chin, displaying a confident and powerful smile.
Andrew, hands in his pockets, stared intently at Cynthia, his expression unreadable.
He waited quietly to hear what she had to say.
The next moment, Cynthia's words sent a shockwave through him.
She grabbed the microphone, standing before everyone, and loudly declared, "I want a divorce!"
