CHAPTER FOUR Michael Brisbane watched out the window as various places he’d grown familiar with came into view. Missoula had been his hometown for many years, and so he felt comfortable here. But the trip to get here? Hadn’t been so comfortable. Rylie was on edge, and whenever she was on edge, he knew he was in for a bumpy ride. It was fine. By now, he knew Rylie was a bit of a closed book, someone who didn’t like to chat and shoot the breeze. He was okay with that. But it sure made for a tense nine hours. He prided himself on being the affable type of guy who could talk to anyone about anything, but she gave him little to work with. Now, even he was running out of material. “You ever wonder how certain towns get their names? They can’t all be named after Indian tribes, right?” he said
