Lin pulls up to the police station and jumps out. "Lin, what are you doing?" She looks at me, offended, "you think I am going to let my baby sister start her new internship at the police station without me making sure that she is going to be taken care of. I need to make sure no creepers are in there."
"Dude, it's a police station. I sure as hell hope no creepers are in there." I sounded more sure than I actually was. I had watched Gotham, I know creepers are everywhere. She links arms with me and she drags me through the main doors shouting, "who's in charge of my sisters job internship thing?"
I would be eternally grateful to be able to turn invisible.
Forever.
Right now.
Damn, no such luck.
We both look over as a door bangs open, "who the hell is yelling in my station?" A man with a very red face screeches as his eyes sweep the station, finally landing on Lin and I. "Who are you and why are you yelling?" I am still wishing and praying to turn invisible as I feel my face turn crimson. My embarrassment only triples when the most stunning man I have EVER seen steps out of the same office as the red faced man. I immediately look at my shoes, still praying for invisibility, or the ground to swallow me whole.
"Uncle Ravi?" Lin asks, her voice shaking. I look over to her and her eyes are as big as dinner plates with tears in the corners.
"Angel bear? Is...is that you?" The red faced man goes pale as Lin rushes him and gives him the biggest, most aggressive hug I have ever seen anyone do in my whole life. She bursts into tears as they hold onto each other, overwhelmed with emotion. I continue to look at my shoes, admiring how the stitching is so noticeable when I am yanked back to reality as the former red faced man hugs me tightly. "My Ser bear. It has been so long. After the accident...," Lin jumps in, "hey, so Ser, this is Javier Ravianier. He is my Moms brother, hence Uncle Ravi. Soooo, meet your Uncle Ravi as well?" Lin threw in that last part with a questioning tone. He looks at me with apprehension.
"Can I hug you? I knew your parents. They loved you so much, we all did. We've missed you. We never heard what happe..."
"Uncle Ravi, Mr. Stolivic, can I speak to you in the office please? As in NOW!" Lin grabs them and jerks them into the office. The beautiful man has a beautiful last name. Too bad his facial expression was completely disgusted at being handled by Lin.
I stand there awkwardly until a friendly looking officer approaches, "are you Serenity Jade Moysiuk?"
"Yes. I am looking for whomever is supposed to be in charge. I am the intern from Halo Moon Incorporated." I said, trying to sound official.
He looks down at my tiny 5'2" frame, smiling genuinely, "well ma'am, it looks like the boss is currently being berated by his niece, so I will show you to your work area. Karen will be who you will directly report to here, and then Mr. Stolivic is your boss at Halo Moon Inc. Come on, it's this way." He began to walk away, but I stood my ground.
"Are you coming?" He looks at me expectantly.
"How about no. I have no idea who you are." He smiles again, "Pardon me, my name is Sgt. Andrew Blake." He extends a hand, and I shake it firmly.
"Ok Sgt. Blake, can you please show me where I will be working and introduce me to Karen. I am eager to begin." I follow him to an elevator, right before the doors close, I smell something...divine. It smells like right before it rains mixed with cherry pie. I looked up and saw Mr. Stolivic looking around, asking if anyone else could smell something. Weird. Maybe both of us are having simultaneous strokes. They say that people will smell odd things if they have a brain tumor or before a stroke. That would be my luck, gain an internship to the best company in the PNW, and then have a stroke or tumor.
"It's not a tumah." I mumble to myself in my best Schwarzenegger impression, making myself giggle. I nearly had to peel myself off the ceiling when Sgt. Blake spoke up. I had completely forgot he was there.
"Oh good! You already talk to yourself like a crazy person. Glad we didn't have to train you on that." I narrowed my eyes at him, and then focused on where we were going so that I would be able to find my way back by myself.
The elevator dings once we hit the basement. The doors open to a poorly lit hallway. I instantly get the heebie jeebies.
"Why is records down in the dungeons? This place is creepy as hell!" Sgt. Blake laughs and scratches the back of his neck nervously. "Yeah, unfortunately this is the only place big enough to hold all of our archived records. We aren't a big station, but we have records back from when the law first came to this area." He escorted her to the records room where a full figured woman with teal, blue, and purple hair and cat-eye glasses looked up.
"OOOOOOOOH! You must be Serenity! Come here, love, lemme look at you! You are absolutely stunning! I already know that you are smart. I saw your resume and the video interview you sent in response to my questions. You are simply...perfect!" she gushes, "oh, I'm Karen Helm, I have worked here...well it feels like forever. But you know what they say, find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life." She waves her hands at Sgt. Blake, "Out! We have work to do, and I know you guys have cases to solve. Byyyyyeeeeee," she calls after him as he disappears through the double doors.
"Come come. Let's get you to work."

**Lin POV**
"Uncle Ravi, Mr. Stolivic, can I speak to you in the office please? As in NOW!" I grab them and jerk them into the office.
"What in the, and I cannot stress this enough, f**k do you think you are doing?" I spit vehemently through my teeth at the two men in front of me.
"I am so sorry Angel bear, I..."
"How dare you speak to me like that! Don't you know who I am little girl?" I look up at the man next to my uncle, my eyes narrowed.
"I know EXACTLY who you are Maxi. Oh, and you are two days older than I am, so you can take your 'little girl' comment and cram it up your-"
"Whoa whoa whoa. Ok. I concede, I got excited and I couldn't control myself. We didn't even know she was still alive Angel. How did you expect me to keep my cool. Have you told anyone else? Has she been to the house to see everyone?" Uncle Ravi looks as excited as a kid on Christmas morn.
"We have more pressing matters, Javier." Maxim Stolivic says, standing to his full 6'7" height, "and you are not part of that discussion." He says looking pointedly at me.
"SHE is a pressing matter. SHE has no idea about anything. SHE believes she is...she doesn't believe in anything supernatural or paranormal or anything that science cannot explain. Maxi, she is an intern for YOUR company, so you may want to actually know something abou-"
"I know more about her than most. I am the founder, sole owner, and CEO of Halo Moon. Don't you think I looked into her before hiring her? That is my business. Investigation, security, and personal protection. I knew her parents as well. I knew her too. There is a reason I hired her. It was time for her to understand and know who she is." I am shocked by his words.
"Um, no. She came back because her parents left her the house for her 21st birthday. Which is next week. Luckily the caretaker, realtor, and lawyer all agreed that we could move in early. We only arrived on island yesterday. Don't try and force her to do anything, and whether she comes back is not your choice, it's hers." I state adamantly.
"It isn't once she shifts." He growls. I growl back. "You will respect your Alpha, little girl."
"Maxi, you haven't been MY Alpha in a long ass time. IF she decides to stay, then I will rejoin along with her. Until then, I still have free will and can do and say as I please. Uncle Ravi, you need to tell Drew and Karen to not spill the beans to her either. Got it?" Uncle Ravi nods in agreement. "What about you, A L P H A?" I ask, dragging out his title obnoxiously.
"I will not say a word, nor bring it up. But I will not lie to her if she asks." I roll my eyes, but accept his answer since it is the only one I will get from him. I hug Uncle Ravi and Maxi, having missed them both...even if Maxi is a pain in my ass.
I open the door and look for Ser, but I can't find her. I hear the elevator ding and look over to see the doors closing, but the look on Ser's face was entertaining. She was smiling, and her eyes were wide, like when we watch the fireworks on the 4th of July. I turn to find Maxi and see him staring at the elevator, the same look of awe on his face as well.
"Does anyone else smell that? I swear I smell peach and pear Jelly Belly beans." My eyes widen in shock.
This is absolutely not good.
