Chapter 2

816 Words
~Adrian~ As I walked back to my chamber, my mind played back on what happened in the dungeon. It was something about her that made me want to go back down there and listen to what she had to say. She’s definitely feisty and her mouth needs to be tamed, but she doesn’t come off as a murderer to me. “Henry,” I yelled. He came in and bowed. “Your Majesty?” My guards were loyal to my family, making sure that we were always protected. “Do you have any information on our little murderer?” Maybe I was a little curious to find out what her life is like. “Yes, Your Majesty, she is indeed a nurse along with her older sister down at the local hospital. In fact, her entire family all practice medicine.” She was telling the truth about her job but that doesn’t mean that she didn’t kill my father. “What else?” I asked. He cleared his throat. “She was definitely at the bar the night of the murder with her older sister. But here’s the weird thing, her sister doesn’t know where she is. She’s called several times within the last four hours.” He held up her phone that showed the number out of missed calls and texts. I took the phone and tried to open it but it was locked. Knowing that I had to see her again made my heart race and I was confused as to why I was drawn to her. “Great, now I have to see her again for the second time,” I mumbled. As I walked back down to the dungeon, I decided to go alone. Once I approached her cell, I was thrown off guard once again, she was laying there with her eyes closed. Her breathing was steady and even. I stood there caught up in how innocent she looked. Innocent... She was far from that. Get your head out of your ass, Adrian! She’s your father’s murderer. “Missed me already, Your Majesty? Or have you already determined my death date?” ~Tori~ I knew he was here in front of my cell. His cologne lingered from the first time he stopped by and only intensified when he came back. Without opening my eyes, I laid quietly waiting for his answer. “Depends,” he answered. I raised an eyebrow, although my eyes were still closed. “Really, on what?” I was really interested in what he had to say. He came back down and from what I can hear, he was definitely alone. “On what you can do for me.” That definitely piqued my interest. Opening my eyes, I glanced over at him before I sat up. “Tell me something, Your Majesty, what do I get out of this?” I was curious to see what he has to offer me. My freedom would be nice but that would be too easy. He stood there looking unsure of what he can offer but then a smile fell upon his face. “You can call your sister back. She’s called several times already.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out my cell phone. It was locked and he needed access. It wasn’t a surprise. She hasn't seen me since I told her I was going outside for air at the bar. Gia was probably freaking out. Calling her to let her know that I’m alive will ease her mind and besides, I don’t want any of my family members caught up in my mess. “Okay, I’ll help you. What do you want me to do?” I wondered. “First, you need to unlock your phone.” I stood up and walked closer to the cell. “And you said I get to call my sister?” I confirmed. He nodded his head and placed my phone up for me to see. 74 missed calls and 37 text messages from Gia, mom, and dad. Oh God. It was a little difficult that my hands were chained together in front of me, but I was able to slide the screen up and type in the passcode. I really hope that the king was a man of his word because now he had access to everything. Once he saw that it was unlocked, he smiled wickedly and stepped back from the cell. As he turned to walk away, I yelled. “Hey! You said I can call my sister!” He turned back to me with a mocking smile. “Yes I did, but I never said when.” That son of b***h! I was livid. He tricked me and I was a fool to let him. I screamed and called him every name in the book while he just laughed and walked away. Stupid ass!
