LEANNA’S POV
“Leanna wait,” Robin called out, as I pulled her along with me. The helplessness in her tone vivid as I turned a deaf ear to her pleading.
“Let’s think this through,” she said, yanking her arm out of my grip, forcing me to come to a stop. I gritted my teeth, tearing my gaze away from the door that led to the training grounds. Where the i***t that itched for a beating awaited me.
“What are you going to do to him?” she asked softly, her gaze locking mine firmly in place as she took my palm in hers.
“Give him a piece of my mind of course,” I said unfazed, giving her a blank stare. I watched as she shook her head softly. A light sigh escaping her lips as she went on to say, “I know you better than I know myself. We both know fists are going to be involved if you go out there.”
She said with a small frown as she squeezed my palm with more force than she initially did. “If you do, then you should know you can’t change my mind,” I hissed, yanking my palm out of hers.
“Have you thought about what your father would say? What the men would?” she raised her voice. Her arms waving in the air as she tried to convince me further.
But it was to no avail. My features remained stone cold as I crossed my arms against my chest. Lips pursed as I watched her silently.
“Fine. But don’t say I didn’t warn you,” she hissed, stomping her feet before breaking my gaze.
“Good,” I said curtly, turning around to face the door as I kicked it open. Silently grateful that I chose to wear combat boots instead of heels today.
“Terrian you bastard,” I growled as I stepped into the covering. Ignoring the practice dummies an weights that littered the floor.
My eyes unblinking as I searched through the heaps of men that crowded the space until it landed on my target.
He was bigger than the rest. His thick arms shone under the sunlight, giving his skin a bronze hue. His golden hair shimmered as he turned around to face me with a slightly confused look on his face.
Asides from his terribly obnoxious personality, I had to admit that he was a looker. His years of bodybuilding had shaped every inch of his figure.
From his defined cheekbones, to his strong jawline, to his adonis like figure.
The brown eyes that rested in his eye sockets did nothing but add to his already obscene attractiveness.
“Yes Leanna?” he called out with a smile as he pushed through the men in his path to get to me. I winced slightly as I was broken out of my reverie by the way he pronounced my name as though I was his.
My fists clenched at my sides as I waited for him to walk up to me. And walk up he did. The concept of personal space seemed to have eluded him as he stood in front of me. Chest to chest.
My nose twitched as I inhaled his smoky scent. Taking a deep breath, I stepped back, before pointing a finger at his chest as I addressed him.
“What did I tell you about spreading false rumors?” I spat, my eyes spitting fire as my heels dug into the ground beneath me.
I ignored the hint of confusion that flashed across his gaze at my question. My mind solely focused on the smile that stretched across his lips soon after.
“Wha rumor? You mean the fact that we’ll end up together? Darling, we both know we’re meant to be,” his deep voice droned out as he dipped his head towards me.
Hai brown eyes meeting my blue as he stared at me invasively. A shiver ran down my spine as I didn’t bother saying anything else.
My boots shifted, as my right leg whipped out from underneath me, striking at his jaw.
The hint of panic that flashed across his gaze at his impending hurt satisfied me to no end. But my satisfaction was short lived as he hastily brought up a palm to block.
“Damnit!” I cursed as I watched him retreat, while massaging his now red palm. “Are you insane? Why would you do that?” he hissed, glaring daggers at me.
“That was me teaching you a lesson,” I spat, resisting the urge to throw myself at him once again.
“You’re crazy,” he spat, never once removing his gaze from mine.
“No, I’m determined. And I challenge you to a shoot-out. If I win, you stop talking trash. If you do, I’ll consider not bashing your head in the next time I see you,” I let out, hands on my hips as I stared at him mockingly.
Victory danced within my gaze as I noticed the crowd that had gathered around us. He seemed to have felt it too, as an ugly look creeped up his features as he stared at the surrounding crowd.
“Fine,” he spat, before turning around to walk away. “I’ll meet you here tomorrow evening,” I said to his retreating back, before turning around to face Robin with a victorious smirk on my face.
I watched as he shook her head helplessly, as she walked up to me. “You won. Now let’s go,” she muttered underneath her breath as she pulled me away.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, as I followed behind her. Our situation now reversed. “Listen,” Robin hissed, but said no more.
With a confused look on her face, I craned my ears to listen to the murmurs around me. My gaze darkening as some of their statements filtered into my ears.
“She’s still so arrogant.”
“No wonder the boss doesn’t like her.”
“Terrian would wipe the floor with her any day.”
“I really can’t believe we’re going to have to put up with her leading us someday.”
I pursed my lips, as my gaze hardened. Not a single word was exchanged as I made my way out of the clearing and back into the hall, underneath the scrutinizing gazes of my subjects.
