The Accident

Yllana headed home from her duty. She heard the bad weather reports earlier. The heavy rainfalls and lightnings were dangerous. Some vehicles stopped nearby to avoid road heavy traffic. The 45-minutes regular drive became more than an hour due to inconvenience. They’re just a kilometers away when a rescue vehicle passed by then another team passed again.
“ What happened?!.”the people from the bus asking each other.
“Boss, we can’t pass right away, there’s a landslide ahead, the collector said
The driver announced for the delay of their trip and some inconveniences because of the landslide accident . Road rangers and traffic enforcers stop vehicles for their safety. They standby for a while and let the heavy rain calm down.
Yllana take a nap to relax for the meantime. She nap for ten minutes when they heard large commotion nearby.
“Move out! Move away!” somebody said.
Yana witnesses the cars and houses that collapsed because of the landslide. She’s horrified with the accidents.
“Medic! Medic! Medic!” somebody shouted.
“Help! Please help my children!” A woman cried out
Yana jump off from the bus to help the very injured victims.
“Please help my daughter!” A mother plead to her
“Don’t worry, she will be okay! Move away!..Yana do the first aid then, she called for the rescue.
“Help! Help! Help my father!” another child cried out.
Yana is so quick attending the increasing injured victims one at a time before the rescue team and medic come.
“Move away! “The road rangers clear the way so thet the medic could easily passed by.
Yana continues attending the injured people when medic come. Ambulances transfer patience in the nearby hospitals immediately. People in the community helping each other to retrieve victims in the site.
“Oliv, everyone is transferred already to hospitals. Let’s go then to attend your own wounds and bruises.” Sam stated
“Don’t worry, Sam it’s far from intestines.” He laugh bitterly.
No, let’s apply some first aid. Let’s go!
“Help! Help! Help!” A woman suddenly shout for help from the other side.
Oliver immediately run towards them to rescue.
Ouch! Oliver fell down before reaching the victims.
Oliver!, Oliver! Sam followed and called him worriedly.
Oliv, Wake up! Olive!, Sam shake Oliver’s shoulder and tap his face. He fainted after he hit by a crawling rock.
Medic! Medic! Please help!.Sam called the medic but, no one answered.
Yana just finished applying some first aid to injured victims and medic transport them to the hospital. She sighed deeply. She releases all tires and worries after the horrible incident. The weather quite calm down. She prepares to return inside the bus when again she heard another emergency call. She immediately turn around and look for the origin of the voice who need help. She never hesitated to come and rescue the victims again.
“Give way!..she immediately get her first aid kit and bend down to the injured victims to check him.” She uses her finger to touch his neck and cut the pants to easily access his injured legs if how deep his wound is. He is still unconscious. She check the face part to see his bruises in his face and to her surprise that she knew the man.
“Oliver?!.. “She looks at his companion and only realized that it’s Sam!..the best-friend of Oliver.
“Sam?!, what happened?! Yllana asks Sam while attending his injured legs and applying first aid to Oliver who is still unconscious.
Sam is also shocked with the presence of Yllana and couldn’t reply immediately. “I will tell you later, Yana.” He said when he back his senses.
Ambulance!” He called the ambulance but no one is there. He decided to bring him to his car nearby for faster transport to the hospital.
“Yana, let’s bring him to the hospital. Come with us!..He lifts Oliver with the stretcher and ask help from the people around to make him get in side the car.
Yana nodded and follow Sam.
They bring Oliver at the hospital to ensure his safe and properly cared.
Sam explains everything happen to Yllana after they arrived at the hospital and placed Oliver in the private room waiting to be conscious.
While Yana is happily observing his serene face while sleeping. She touches his face gently. I miss this man so bad. What happen to you? Why didn’t you answer my call? You need to explain everything. Yllana breathe heavily. I have so many questions in my mind now that needs an explanation when you wake up. She sit beside his bed and hold his hands. She play his hands for a while.
“Wow, it’s already dawn..She yawns and decided to nap for a minute. She checks the dextrose and place everything safely before closing her eyes while sitting besides him.
Meanwhile, Sam decided to go out to give her space.
Int the lobby of the hospital, Sam decided to to check his best friend’s car when he heard a convo:
Street Sweeper: Hey, have you heard about what happened in the nearby province?
Vendor: No, what happened?
Street Sweeper: Apparently, there was a landslide, and it's been all over the news. It's devastating.
Truck Driver: I heard that a nurse named Yana was traveling back home from her duty when she came across the scene. She immediately jumped in to help the victims.
Street Sweeper: Really? That's incredible. Yana is such a dedicated nurse. I'm not surprised she would do something like that.
Vendor: Yeah, she's a real hero. It's amazing how some people are just naturally inclined to help others in need, no matter the circumstances.
Truck Driver: Absolutely. Yana's actions truly show the selflessness and compassion that nurses and healthcare professionals possess. She's an inspiration to us all.
Street Sweeper: Definitely. We should all strive to be a little more like Yana in our everyday lives - always ready to lend a helping hand when it's needed the most.
Sam smiled and thinks the same about Yllana too. Then he headed to the car and passed by.
In the hospital’s private room, Oliver slowly opened his eyes. It seems that he deeply slept tonight. He move to up but, something tied his arms. He look at his side and blink his eyes again then pinch his cheeks if he’s not dreaming.
“He is now in the hospital? And Yana is here?” He didn’t expect to see the most person he wants to see this time, when he realized that he’s really in the hospital with Yana who patiently again waiting him awake. He holds her hand and reach her face slowly to kiss her. “Yana, I missed you so much!”
Yana heard his whispers, she thoughts she’s dreaming and immediately open her eyes. She just staring him who is smiling.
“Hi! I miss you my herroine.” Oliver smiles widely.
“Hi!, How are you?, where’s the pain? Yana asks him worriedly.
Oliver pinch her cheek and smile again. “It’s gone, the pains are scared of the beautiful nurse like you. He laughs louder.
Yana just squeeze his legs slightly as response to tease him.
“Ouch! It hurts!” Oliver cried out.
Yana laughs. “ I thought it’s gone? She laughs again and again.
Oliver dragged her down to his chest and kiss. “I missed you so much!”
Yana out balanced and fell easily to his chest. She blushed.
“Did I hear it right?” You missed me? Yana asks him again that makes him nod.
She holds his hands again and hug him tight. She didn’t say anything but her actions speak louder.
They’re in that state for couple of minutes before Yana sit down and ask him all the questions over her mind. Oliver answered it all honestly and even revealing his true identity. Yana hugged him again and said, “I don’t need your high status of life. I just want you to stay with me forever.” She said it from her heart.
Oliver hears it right, she likes him too. He’s so happy that she have feelings for him too. All the pain are gone in just a blink of his eyes.
“I will make money for our family. I will ensure your bright future.”
Yana has no choice but to agree. She loves Oliver. Since they know each other, she had a lot of dreams about him. She missed him too.
“Don’t move too much Oliv, you legs was hit badly. “ Yana reminds Oliver. She cared him and attended until he leave the hospital.
