KAEL As I stepped out of my cabin, I looked up and saw… Mashik I moved with the speed of light, and without thinking or breathing, my hands gripped the front of his leathers before he could so much as raise a hand in greeting. I slammed him into the wall of my cabin, the wood groaning behind his back. “Two godsdamned month,” I snarled into his face. “Two months and not a single word. Do you know what that’s done to me? What I’ve felt?” He didn’t fight me, he never did. His eyes met mine, calm in a way that only made my rage burn hotter. “She’s fine,” he said evenly. “That’s why I didn’t come back earlier. I didn’t want to pull you in too early.” I shoved him inside the cabin and slammed the door behind us. The hearth still smelled of burnt ash and broken things from my last tantrum.
