Rescuing the trapped dragons

chapter 4

Brendon POV

She is perfect, I have no doubt that she is a great person but the most interesting thing about her is the mystery. Everything about her makes me want to worship the ground she walks on. I could sing to her every love song and it still would not be enough.

My twin brother has always teased me for being a romantic person without a mate to sweep off of her feet.

All my romantic gestures were mainly used by my friends who had mates and did not know what to get them on special occasions, all of it was just practice for my mate and she is finally here, but before the romance, I need some answers and hopefully I won't have to be harsh with her.

I have a stern expression on me just for show. I take a seat on the black plastic chair with all four of them sitting in front of me, with my mate sitting in the middle.

I look at each them making sure to hold eye contact for at least a few seconds before moving to the next person, and every one of them is looking right back at me, meeting my eyes but my mate looks everywhere else but me, so I look at her longer and her companions seem to notice so they all turn to look at her.

She looks at her right, feeling that everyone's eyes are on her, the lady on her right has one of her eyebrows arched at my mate, my mate just rolls her eyes at her and then looks back at me with the fiercest eyes I hate ever seen and I am taken aback.

I guess that’s her game face so she is ready to talk.

“I am Brendon Francis, I will be asking the questions first, if you do not answer truthfully or you do not co-operate, my twin brother Brain will take over and he won't be as nice as I am, so I hope we won't let it get there” I say calmly looking at my mate who simply tilts her head

“Listen carefully because I would hate to repeat myself, who are you, where are you from, how did you get through the barrier, what are you, how did you find our territory?” I ask calmly

After a few seconds of silence

“That is Dean, Dora and Chloe, we are dragons, we have been on the run from the vampires for almost 4 years. I lead us here and also my dragon showed me how to get through the barrier, we are sorry for intruding, we did not know that this was werewolf territory, we will get out of your territory as soon as we are done here” my mate says

Thinking about it she did not mention who she is.

“I am sure you have already sensed that I am a dragon and witch hybrid since werewolves have heightened senses which my magic cannot hide” my mate says

The girl on her left looks at her with wide eyes and the girl on her right shakes her head at her.

“I Lisa Aya Robbinfire, princess of the dragons, I reject you Brendon Francis and Brain” Lisa says

I zoned out when she told us her name

‘Lisa Francis has a nice ring to it’ I think to myself

‘YOU FOOL!!, if your brother had not stopped her, we would have been mateless’ my wolf Hugh says

It appears Brian has literally flown from where he was, and is now kneeling in front of Lisa our mate with his hand on her mouth.

“I know he isn't that good looking, but I don’t understand why I have to suffer because of him” Brain says while smiling at a very shocked Lisa

Not only am I shocked that this lunatic has jokes but he just said he looks better than me, on the other hand my beta Josh is giggling like a girl behind me

“Really? That’s the first thing that you thought of saying to our mate?" I say while rolling my eyes

“Well, am I wrong?” Brain asks while looking back at me

“You can stay the night here, dinner will be brought to the floor you will be staying on, if you have any requests, please tell the guards that will be stationed outside your villa.

We will come by to talk about a way forward, at least you will have enough time to think about all of this, but we do not intend on letting you go anywhere without us. Also don’t try to run away as you said: we have better senses than any supernatural so we will track you down in less than 5 minutes which isn't enough time to get off pack lands.” I say, giving her a tight smile showing no teeth

“I hope we will drop any formalities and everyone can make themselves at home, even if some might not be welcoming but most people here are open minded and we can all get to know each other better” I add

Brian still has his hand over her mouth and says “Do we have a deal? No ‘R’ word until we have spoken?”

Lisa simply nods, he removes his hand and stands up

“Josh please lead our guests to their floor” I say while standing up and everyone does the same

We all head out and go to the elevator

I mind link 2 of our warriors to stand outside the guest villa on the second floor.

All the men stand on the either side of the opening making a path for the ladies to enter.

My mate unfortunately rolls her eyes whilst the lady I assume to be Chloe who has the same colour hair as Lisa smiles and walks into the elevator first, the guy with the man bun follows in so I guess he is Dean,

Lisa follows with her head held up looking forward making sure to not make eye contact with anyone but her companions, lastly the lady with jet black hair who looks like a female version of Dean I assume is Dora goes in following Lisa.

Brain and I stand on the sides of the elevator and Josh stands in the middle. I can't help but stare at her, Lisa’s heartbeat is a bit fast and I can tell she is trying to stay calm, Brian and I are both staring, and I am positive she can feel us staring.

She probably thinks we are weird but I honestly can't help myself. She is just so perfect, everything about her draws me in. I hope she will not resist the mate bond.

In school we learned that werewolf mates are instantly drawn to each other, nothing can stop the two from embracing each other. There is an undeniable pull that cannot be ignored, they are likely to seal the bond from the moment they meet and it is rare that mates reject each other.

Rejection makes a werewolf feral, untameable, always feeling the incomplete, most opt to be killed than to live with the pain, it is said losing a mate to death is more bearable.

Whereas other species such as vampires, dragons, witches and wizards can reject their mates, soulmates or beloveds and live normal lives. The pain does not last and they can choose other people but when both people choose to stay together their love is as deep and the werewolf mate bond but it could take some time for the couple to get to that.

Having a hybrid is unheard of, let alone a different supernatural so this is going to be a challenge but that is not a big deal to an alpha.

I try to keep a positive mindset, trying to get over the fact that we almost got rejected but she will come around.

We get to the second floor and Josh says “follow me please”

Lisa, Chloe, Dora and Deam follow him out of the elevator,

I kept my eyes on Lisa hoping she will look back at us, she slightly turned her head to the side and quickly turned it back to look forward.

I exhaled as if I was holding my breath waiting for it to happen but it didn’t.

The elevator doors closed and I see my twin brother Brain has his shoulders slumped, I guess we both were disappointed what just happened.

“We need to head to the cave now, hopefully the goddess would shed some light on this and possibly see if this will work out or not.” I say to Brian

He simply nods and without saying anything we head out the back of the pack house and run, swiftly shifting into our wolves.

There is a water fall which has stream that surrounds our territory and leads to the ocean behind the mountains, normally I would take my time and just admire our surroundings but the matter at hand needs to be dealt with immediately.

Our pack’s ancestry is rooted behind the water fall which acts as curtains to a cave that is not known to anyone but only the alphas of the pack.

No one is able to access it unless the guides that dwell inside welcome whoever the outsider is and they are normally led here.

Brian and I were led to this cave by our wolves when we had our first shift, we were welcomed by the deity the: moon goddess, and our ancestors’ spirits are present inside.

When each alpha shifts into their wolves they are led to a sacred place that their ancestors and the moon goddess dwell. Each pack has one but no one except the alphas know where the sacred place is.
