The room is not silent, what with the machines Spence is connected to and all, but the quiet still unnerves me.
That, and the fact that Cyra isn’t with us. I need her. I need her so much. I can’t seem to settle down when she’s not here with us, especially because I know that she’s hurt and I want to be able to protect her, no matter how improbable that would be in my current state.
When she first woke up, she was so pale and seemed disoriented, which worried me. But what worried me even more was when she asked a question and I answered her and a short while later, she asked the same question again, seemingly not remembering that I’d already answered it.
