36 Spence I wash my hands, the mud flushing down the drain. “This will be the first time that we’ll be leaving the kids behind...” Liam is searching through some boxes on the shelves behind me. “Your point?” “Don’t you think it’s...” I sigh. “It feels weird. We’ve never travelled without them since they were born. We’ve never been apart from them for more than a few hours.” Liam’s movements still. “True.
