It was yet another day, the hospital was as busy as it can ever be. Zayne walked out of the changing room wearing his coat, heading to take his patient’s files for the day, where he met Mark going through some files that he had to attend to for the day.
“Hey man,” Zayne said, taking his files from the table. Mark looked up to him.
“Hey!” Mark said shortly and faced back to his file.
“Are you OK?” Zayne said, being concerned. Mark looked back at him.
“What?” Mark asked, as if he had no idea what he was asking.
“I mean are you good?” Zayne asked.
“Why shouldn’t I be? Because I am a dad?” Mark asked, feeling offended.
“Mark, you know Allan didn’t mean what he said, he is just stressed about his divorce,” Zayne explained, trying to make him understand.
“I was going to tell you guys; I just wanted you guys to finalize whatever your plans are with your issues,” Mark said.
“We could still have listened,” Zayne said.
“I was trying to be a good friend here,” Mark defended himself.
“I know, so are we here. That’s why we are going to see the baby together,” Zayne said.
“A baby?” Kristine said, walking towards them coming from the elevator holding a cup of coffee in her hand. They both looked at her, “…what baby?” she added.
“Great, now even Kristine knows,” Mark spoke, taking his files and started walking away.
“I didn’t tell her anything,” Zayne spoke out loud as Mark kept walking away.
Kristine walked and stood facing Zayne.
“What am I not told?” she asked.
“Hi baby” Zayne said
“Zayne! Come on, what is going on?” she asked impatiently.
“We’ll talk about it over dinner; it’s really a long story,” Zayne said.
“You’re coming over tonight?” she asked, taking a sip of her coffee. Smiling at him, he smiled back.
“I miss your cooking,” he said.
“Is that all you missed?” she asked softly, placing one hand on his chest and looked up to him, her eyes filled with seduction, a very beautiful, blonde fiancée, only for him. And the whole hospital knows about it. Zayne leaned close to her ear, placing his hand on her waist.
“If the cook is willing for me to have her as a dessert, it’ll be much better, don’t you think?” he whispered and looked at her eyes. She smiled, a beautiful bright smile. She was in love, she loved him with all she could give. To her, Zayne was the perfect guy for her.
He leaned to her and kissed her; she held onto his coat as she responded patiently ….
“So that’s how we say good morning,” Jess, Kristine’s best friend, spoke, getting to the table to take her files. They stopped and looked at her.
“Hey Jess,” Zayne greeted as the two parted.
“Hey Zayne. You two need to save some of those for the honeymoon,” Jess said, smiling.
“You know we can’t help ourselves,” Kristine said, smiling.
“I better get going. I'll see you around,” he spoke.
“OK, but before you go, you should remember my friend’s mom's surgery this morning,” Kristine said.
“Oh, is Hellen coming in today?” Jess asked excitedly.
“Yes,” Kristen said and turned to look at Zayne.
“I think it's already on my schedule. I'll meet them as soon as they check in,” Zayne said.
“Thanks babe, ill page you,” Kristine said.
“Love you,” Zayne wished as he walked away.
“It’s been so long since I last saw Aisy. I can’t wait for her to get here,” Jess spoke excitedly.
“Me too, she said she would call when she gets here,” Kristine said as the two walked to the elevator, turned and closed.
Allan sat in his office going through his paper work, busy as he always is. The door to his office was opened and Justin walked in holding two cups of coffee. Allan looked up to him
“Good morning,” Justin greeted him as he walked in.
“Hey Justin,” Allan spoke, putting his pen on the table. “…. You brought me coffee,” he added as Justin walked to his table and he placed a cup near Allan.
“Am I not your best friend?” Justin asked, teasing.
“You have never brought me coffee in my entire life,” Allan said.
“That’s not true,” Justin said and took his sip.
“Name one time you got me coffee,” Allan said, taking the cup in his hands. Justin paused thinking
“You know that time……” Justin paused, thinking.
“Uh….” Allan asked, waiting for the answer as a soft smile showed to his face.
“Well, we all start somewhere,” Justin said as he took his seat on the guest chair. Allan took a sip and returned the cup to the table.
“So, tell me, is this about Mark?” Allan asked.
“What happened yesterday was really not cool, I know,” Justin said.
“Did you know about Fatima?” Allan asked.
“I swear I didn’t, but I talked to Mark after we left there. He wanted to talk to us about it, but with your divorce coming and Zayne’s wedding coming, this felt like a distraction,” Justin said.
“It’s already a distraction, Justin’ Allan said.
“Allan, please, we support each other no matter how stupid our decisions are,” Justin said.
Allan looked down at his coffee and back to Justin.
“I am the one who suggested seeing the baby, so, of course, I will be there," Allan said.
Justin smiled, looking at him.
“That’s why I brought you coffee,” Justin said and stood.
“There is a lot to plan here. Fatima does not need to be a stripper anymore, she needs a place to stay, and I don’t know what to do about the status before this reaches those billionaires back in Boston and the whole press. There are already all over us with my divorce, let this not reach them,” Allan explained.
“All we’ll be planned. Thanks, dude,” Justin said.
“Bring coffee often,” Allan said, taking his cup and taking a sip.
“I'll try and remember that,” Justin said, smiled and walked out of the door.
Aisy was putting things well on the bedside table, making sure all of her mom’s essentials were there even if she would need her surgery today. She wanted Hellen to feel like home,
“You're stressing a lot,” Hellen spoke.
Aisy turned back to look at her mother.
“I don’t want you to have any problems, mom. I just want to make you feel like you’re still at home,” Aisy said.
“I am not going to die,” Hannah said.
“Its good you are not planning that,” Aisy spoke
Hellen gave her a warm smile.
“You need to go home also; you have guests today,” Hellen reminded
“The guests will be home at 3pm mom, don’t worry,” Aisy spoke and held her mom’s hand as she lay looking up at her.
“You’re the one who worries like you birthed me,” Hellen teased.
Aisy smiled, looking at her mother.
“Hey bestie!” Both Aisy and Hellen looked at the door.
“Oh Kristine!” Aisy called, her voice filled with relief as she walked towards her. They hugged. “…you don’t know how happy I am to see you,” she added as they unhugged
“I am more glad because I have missed you,” Kristene spoke happily. Aisy smiled. Kristen turned to Hellen
“Hey Hellen,” Kristene said, walking to where she lay
“You are glowing my love,” Hellen said.
“It’s because I am in love,” Kristene spoke happily. Aisy smiled, folding her hand over her chest. She was happy for her friend
“We are sorry we missed the engagement; Fatima was in labor, and it was just a lot,” Aisy tried to explain.
“Aisy, don’t worry, I understand you more than you can know,” Kristene spoke. Well she did.
“Who is the lucky guy, by the way?” Hellen asked.
“He is the one that will do your surgery. I just paged him before I got here. And that reminds me I need to page Jess before she kills me,” Kristene spoke, pressing her pager that was on her waist and looked up to the door. “… Oh, hey babe,” she added, looking at the door and there stood Zayne.
And there, right there is where their eyes met, he saw her. The girl from the club. She was there, standing right in front of her. Stunning just as he remembers.
