Bound To You

Chapter 2

Xander's POV

Finally I was ready and mum and dad asked me to meet them in dad's office. The party had already started and I was already nervous. 'Hi Dad, mum' I said as I entered dad's office. 'Son we wanted to wish you all the best and escort you into the ballroom' they said in unison as they grabbed each arm and we walked towards the ballroom. My heart started beating faster and I could hear Zane in the back of my mind. 'Our mate is here, I can feel and smell our mate' Zane said and I realised my palms getting sweaty. 'Okay are you ready?' mum asked and I took a deep breathe. As the door opened we started walking in and I was surrounded by so many scents but one particular scent hit me like a thunder bolt, one particular scent was drawing me to the owner. 'That is our mate's scent' Zane said happily, but I ignored him. Mum and dad stood on either side of me, while dad spoke and introduced me as Alpha Xander of the Blood Moon Pack, we then slit our palms a little while the blood was mixed and soon all dad's Alpha powers were transferred to me. This is tradition of all Alphas and has been followed for centuries. As soon as the ceremony was completed, I felt heat flow through my body and everything started blurring 'what is happening Zane?' I asked through our mind link. 'We are shifting, this will hurt a lot unless our mate comes near us and soothes us' Zane said. I could hear mum and dad trying to calm me down and then that scent, that scent of strawberries and chocolate surrounded me and it calmed all my senses. I could not hear anyone but I knew it was my mate and she was near by so I could feel and smell her scent. It took a few seconds but I finally shifted and everyone was in awe when they saw my beautiful white wolf. All the unmated wolves shifted into their wolves and Zane let out a loud howl and everyone followed him into the forest for the mating run. Many found their mates and returned to the pack house where the party was still on, except me .. I could not track the scent anymore. 'Our mate is not here, our mate has rejected us' Zane said sadly and I felt my heart break. 

It's been three days since the mating ball and I have not yet found my mate. All the guest left and my Beta Jason who is also my best friend found his mate. They looked so happy together which made me feel even worst. 'Alpha Xander, may I come in?' Jason asked. 'Yes Jason' I replied. 'Alpha, there is a conference of all Alpha's happening at the New Moon Pack, this conference happens every year and the council decides where it will be held, so this year they chose the New Moon Pack' .. 'Okay so let's get ready and we will leave today' I said. 'Xander, I am not sure but something is not quite right, Alpha Josh of the New Moon Pack has been acting very strange since your birthday, he even left on the same day and since then there is news that he does not want to host the Alpha conference too. Unfortunately he has not option but to agree as the council would not listen to him.' Jason said and that got me thinking. 'Okay we will need to keep our walls up at all times' I said and Jason nodded. 

After packing our bags we left, as usually these conferences last for two or three days.
