Aria didn’t know how she got back to her dorm.
Everything felt like a blur—voices, movement, the way the bullies had backed away like she was something dangerous… something they feared. Her chest still hummed, that same strange energy pulsing beneath her skin, refusing to settle.
Her hands trembled as she sat on the edge of her bed.
“What is happening to me…” she whispered.
The moment replayed in her mind again—
The way they had stopped.
The way they had listened.
The way Daniel had looked at her.
Not just protective anymore.
But… aware.
Like he had been waiting for this.
A knock at the door shattered her thoughts.
Sharp. Urgent.
Aria’s heart skipped. “Who is it?”
The door opened before she could move.
And her breath caught.
“Grandma…?”
Standing in the doorway was the one person she never expected to see here—her grandmother. Her expression wasn’t warm like usual.
It was serious.
Almost… afraid.
“You need to come with me. Now,” her grandmother said.
Aria stood slowly, confusion flooding her. “How are you even here? What’s going on?”
Her grandmother didn’t answer immediately. Her gaze flicked past Aria—
And landed on Daniel.
Because he was already there.
Leaning against the wall like he had been waiting.
The tension in the room shifted instantly.
“You,” her grandmother said sharply. “You’ve been around her this whole time.”
Daniel didn’t flinch. “She needed protection.”
“She needed distance,” her grandmother snapped. “Not to be pulled deeper into this!”
Aria looked between them, her chest tightening. “Wait—what is this? Why are you both acting like you know something I don’t?”
Silence fell.
Heavy.
Then—
“It’s time,” her grandmother said quietly.
Aria’s breath hitched.
Time… for what?
Daniel stepped forward, his voice calmer. “She deserves to know.”
Her grandmother hesitated. For a moment, Aria saw something she had never seen before—fear. Real fear.
Then slowly…
She nodded.
“Sit,” she said.
Aria obeyed without thinking, her heart pounding as both of them stood in front of her like they were about to change her entire life.
“Everything you felt tonight,” Daniel began, “the way they reacted to you… that wasn’t normal.”
“I know that!” Aria snapped, frustration rising. “So explain it!”
Her grandmother stepped forward, her voice softer now—but heavy with truth.
“You’re not just human, Aria.”
The words hit like a shockwave.
“What…?”
Daniel’s gaze didn’t leave hers. “You’re part of something older. Stronger.”
Aria shook her head, backing up slightly. “No… no, that’s not possible. This isn’t some fantasy—”
“It’s real,” her grandmother cut in firmly.
The room felt like it was closing in.
Her breathing quickened. “Then what am I?”
Silence.
Then—
Her grandmother spoke the word.
“You’re a Luna.”
Everything stopped.
Aria blinked. “A… what?”
Daniel stepped closer, his voice low. “The Luna of a pack is not just a title. It’s power. Authority. Connection. You don’t just belong to the pack—you lead beside the Alpha.”
Her head spun. “No… no, that doesn’t make sense. I’m just—me. I’m nobody.”
“You were never nobody,” her grandmother said quietly. “I hid the truth from you to protect you. Because Lunas… they are rare. Powerful. And they are always targeted.”
Aria’s chest tightened. “So you knew? This whole time?”
Her grandmother looked away. “Yes.”
Anger flared instantly. “You let me think I was normal while all this was happening to me?!”
“I was trying to keep you safe!” she snapped. “The moment your powers awaken fully, you become a target. Not just from bullies—”
“From packs,” Daniel added.
Aria turned to him sharply. “Packs?”
“Yes,” he said. “Werewolf packs. Leaders, rivals, enemies. And now that your power is starting to show… they’ll notice.”
Her stomach dropped.
“So tonight…” she whispered, “when they stopped…”
“That was your authority,” Daniel said. “Your Luna power. You didn’t force them physically—you commanded them.”
Her hands trembled.
“That’s impossible…”
“Is it?” he asked gently.
She thought back—
The way they froze.
The way they hesitated.
The fear in their eyes.
Her breathing became uneven.
“This… this can’t be real…”
Daniel stepped closer, his hand reaching for hers. This time, she didn’t pull away.
“You felt it,” he said softly. “And deep down… you know it’s true.”
Her grandmother watched them, her expression tightening. “This is exactly what I was afraid of,” she murmured.
Aria looked at her. “Afraid of what?”
“Of him,” she said, nodding toward Daniel.
The air shifted again.
Daniel’s jaw tightened. “I’m not the enemy.”
“You’re an Alpha,” her grandmother said sharply. “And she’s a Luna. Do you think I don’t know what that means?”
Aria’s heart skipped. “Alpha…?”
Daniel exhaled slowly. “Yes.”
Everything hit at once.
The bond.
The pull.
The intensity between them.
Her chest tightened as realization dawned.
“You’re… my…”
He didn’t let her finish.
“Mate,” he said quietly.
Silence.
Aria’s entire world tilted.
Her pulse thundered in her ears as she stared at him.
“That’s why…” she whispered. “That’s why everything feels so… strong between us…”
Daniel nodded. “It’s not just attraction, Aria. It’s the bond. It connects us—emotionally, physically… completely.”
Her grandmother stepped forward again. “And that bond is exactly why this is dangerous.”
Aria looked between them, torn.
“One of you hid the truth from me,” she said slowly.
“The other knew… and still got close to me.”
Neither of them spoke.
Her chest rose and fell, emotions crashing into each other.
Confusion.
Anger.
Fear.
And something deeper…
Acceptance.
Because no matter how much she tried to deny it—
She felt it.
The power.
The bond.
The truth.
“I…” she whispered, her voice shaking. “I don’t know what to do.”
Daniel stepped closer, his voice steady. “You don’t have to figure it out all at once. Just don’t run from it.”
Her grandmother’s voice softened. “And don’t let it consume you either.”
Aria closed her eyes briefly, the weight of everything pressing down on her.
When she opened them again—
There was something different there.
Not fear.
Not weakness.
But awareness.
“I need time,” she said quietly.
Daniel nodded. “You’ll have it.”
Her grandmother hesitated… then nodded too.
But deep down—
They both knew.
Time wouldn’t stop what had already begun.
Aria had awakened.
And nothing would ever be the same again.
