Working with the CEO

1602 Words
Cassie doesn't want to get up in bed today since it's the first day of working with the new CEO. It's going to be hard since her brain seems to freeze whenever a Wilson is around her. She was happy to escape the former CEO but now, she needs to deal with the new one.  After showering, she started preparing herself. They have a uniform so it makes it easier for her to pick what to wear every day. But today, it seems that she's more meticulous with her look. The no-makeup look works best for her features but this time, she tried to wear her red lipstick. It makes her feel more confident and she might need that today. Once done, she made sure to spray her signature scent. It has a fruity and flowery scent that makes her feel ready for anything. She stopped and looked in the mirror to make sure that she looks extra pretty today. Not that because Jaimie will be shadowing her. Or maybe she's just pretending not to care. "I'm trying to be pretty for my clients! You will make a lot of sales today!" She psyched herself in front of the mirror.  She always does that before going to work and it seems to work well for her. It becomes her habit now which makes her the top agent of Wilson's Empire. She's making them rich but she's also earning a lot in every sale. Exceeding her monthly quota made her keep a huge percentage of her sales.  Her next goal is to win that trip to Japan raffle since she wanted to go to Sanrio Puroland. It's been her dream destination since she was a child. She's a Hello Kitty fan and she will work harder to earn that price. Although she's making a lot from her job, she's investing most of it. Her dream to become rich is not that far-fetched as long as she has some investments. "If you want to be rich, then you have to marry a billionaire!" She remembered what Nicky said to her.  It makes her giggle a bit because Nicky seems to have a point. But that's not her plan since she wants to achieve that dream herself. She doesn't believe in fairy tales. The reality of life was thought of for her since she came from the orphanage. She knows that if she wants something, she has to work for it so she can get whatever it is she wants to have. Cassie parked her car close to the office near the model house. It's her parking spot and the guards save it for her. She can see that a few people are coming into the model house. The agents need to stop by this office every day to clock in. But today, she will be staying all day in the office to assist Ms. Wilson. Her shift starts at 9 A.M. and she always makes sure to be earlier than that. She gets out of her car and started walking towards the office. It's only 8:30 A.M. which means she's still early for her shift. She likes to always come in early so that she doesn't have to be stressed out about the time. When she reached the office, she found some of her co-workers were already preparing to leave for their tripping. It will start at 9 AM and they are already excited to leave the office. "Good morning everyone! It's just 8:30 so stay where you are!" She greeted them. "The new boss will be here soon and we want to leave before that happens," Matt replied. "What do you mean? Who will be with me for this shift then?" She asked as she sits down in her chair. "You will be partnering with the CEO, right?" Ellen asked. "Yes, so?" Cassie asked. "The manager instructed us to leave both of you for this shift," Matt answered. "What? That's absurd! You can't leave me all alone here. I need to meet some clients later!" She complained. "Nicky will come in at 1 PM But in the meantime, you have to stay with the new boss," Ellen responded. "Are you saying I have to babysit today? Whoa, I can't believe it!" She exclaimed. "Who are you babysitting?" A strong but feminine voice asked. Matt, Ellen, and the other agents went back to their desk right away as if seeing a ghost. Cassie turned around and saw the CEO standing there. She's wearing an agent's uniform which still looks great on her. She suddenly felt weak seeing her around but tried to act professionally. "Good morning, Ms. Wilson! You're early!" She greeted her feeling as if she's in a dream seeing her this close.  Cassie looks at her watch and it's only 8:45. She's expecting her to be late since she's the boss after all. But not Jaimie! She seems very punctual especially when it comes to business. "What time did you arrive?" Jaimie asked her. "Around 8:30." She replied. "You're also early. I like that! So, where should I sit?" Jaimie asked again. Matt assisted her right away near Cassie's desk. She wanted to tell Matt to bring her somewhere else but she already occupied the desk beside her. Cassie thought that she should just act naturally since she doesn't want to show a fake habit. It will be unfair to the owner of the company not to see how the employees work when the boss is not around.  Cassie went back to her phone to see what's on her calendar. There are some follow-ups she needs to do so she started calling some clients. She needs to relax and work as usual. The pretty lady CEO doesn't even have to do anything. But unlike her, she needs to work very hard every day. She's still on the phone when the other agents said goodbye to start their tripping. After that call, she suddenly remembered that the boss is around. She doesn't know how to approach her even though she usually trains newbies most of the time. But now she feels awkward, not because she's the CEO of the company but her pretty face makes her weak and she doesn't like that feeling. Is she starting to be a lesbian or something? "Aren't you supposed to be teaching me something?" Jaimie asked nicely. "Well, what do you want to learn first?" Cassie asked her back but try not to look directly at her. "I'm not familiar with how real estate works around here. I studied in Australia and I don't think it will be the same around here." Jaimie responded.  "I have some PowerPoint presentations on my computer about that. Do you want me to send it to you?" Cassie offered. "No, I don't want to read the theory! Just tell me how it works based on your understanding. I'll get it without the visuals." Jaimie declined and requested. "Alright, if you insist I'll tell you what I know," Cassie replied while still looking at her computer.  "I want you to look at me when you talk, Cassie!" Jaimie ordered in a firm tone. It's no big deal but it makes her feel nervous. She can't even look at her and now she wants her to face her while she talks. But she tried her best to show confidence so she turned her chair to face Jaimie. She explained the real estate in the country and they were able to have a good discussion.  Cassie is proud of herself that she survived being alone with the new CEO. But the more she spends time with her, the more she looks gorgeous. Jaimie seems to be a nice woman once you warm to her. She seems to forget her first impression of her the more she's being around her. The time passed by so fast and before they knew it, it's time for lunch. "Let's have lunch first!" Jaimie announced. "Sure, you can take it first. I'll wait for the 1 PM agents." She replied. "Do you always do that? I mean, we can have lunch together." Jaimie insisted. "We don't leave the office  unattended in case a client comes by." She responded. "That's very responsible! I'm impressed! But really, let's break that rule and have lunch together. I've made an early reservation at a nearby restaurant for our lunch." Jaimie informed her. Cassie doesn't know if she's being tricked but the CEO of the company is asking her for lunch. How can she say no to her? Maybe she doesn't have a choice but to say yes.  "Okay." Cassie finally agreed. They headed out of the office and reached the parking area. Jaimie suggested just use her car instead so they don't have to worry too much about where to do the parking for two cars. Cassie agreed since she didn't want to argue with her anymore. After all, she needs to make a good impression on the new CEO. It's her job to be nice and polite to everyone after all.  When they have reached the restaurant, Cassie can't believe that she picked up a fancy place just for lunch. Not that she doesn't want to eat there but she's still on duty and doesn't have much time to spare. Her usual routine doesn't allow her to spend her lunch break longer than 30 minutes. But now, it will surely take at least two hours for them to enjoy their food.  "Don't worry, I told them to prepare everything ahead of time. Let's go in!" Jaimie assured her and they went inside.
